I heard at work today that we got a power plant to do the electrical on. I really like stuff like this, my specialty is electrical controls, and power plants have a lot of them.
I like the company that owns the plant, I've done 6 or 7 plants for them. When (not if, when) there are problems with the blueprints, I'm free to design anything I need to in order to make it work. With most companies, I have to convince the engineer that the drawings are wrong; (not easy, most engineers have pretty big egos, along with very small brains), then fix the new drawings as well. This company just wants it to work.
The only problem with the whole ordeal is the plant is located about 30 miles from Battle Mountain, Nevada. Down a dirt road. Battle Mountain is generally referred to as 'The Armpit Of Nevada'. A couple of fleabag motels, a bunch of trailer-trash.......not a good place to be at all.
I'm hoping they'll let us work long days. What else is there to do in a place like that?!?? Plus, the overtime pay will be greatly appreciated!
I just want the day to be over so I can go home and decorate my apartment for Hallowe'en!! Since I had to downgrade from a 2200 sq.ft. 4/bdrm. house into a 856 sq.ft. 1 bdrm apartment, I will have A LOT of stuff to decorate the apartment with. My husband said I am not allowed to buy anything new because we have no room for it. That was difficult yesterday because I went to Target and walked down the Hallowe'en aisle and got stuck. I was good though! All I bought was the glow-in-the-dark DOTS that husband loves. I'm such a nice wife.
