Re: RCMC 110: Born to Gaze into Night Skies

Emails do stack up quick. I save anything I MIGHT look at again. Gmail is pretty much unlimited storage and its search function works good plus the labels (folders) are easy to use. I'm not as bad as my mom though who has nearly 200 THOUSAND emails saved. Many of which never even read. I've logged in her acct and delted emails before. NEver anything she could possibly need. Mostly 2 year old emails she never bothered to read. lol

My Mom never deletes her email either. And she wonders why her computer is so slow.

She can especially never delete a personal email.

I guess in some ways that is good. She has all the emails that her and my Dad used to exchange. I was never quite sure what those emails were all about since they had been divorced for over 20 years, but she apparently corresponded with him more than I. Now that he is gone, it is kinda cool to see those emails in her computer.

So maybe there is a method to her madness.

Saving personal emails makes sense. The emails my mom saves does NOT make sense. Does she really need an email from two years ago about the sales at Walmart? I'm pretty sure all the links will be dead links in most of her saved emails.

Yeah, emails can stack up rather quickly.

The worst part is trying to decide which ones I might need later.
I tend to be a pack rat in all things... including email.

I was going through the cupboard part of the computer desk today... cleaning it out... and there was a trouble shooting/repair manuel book from my Apple IIe days.

I told my daughter I want to hang onto some of that stuff for "historical" reference...

Now see my gmail acct. I can clean out in 10 seconds. I use it for my spam stuff so its just an auto delete everything. My Earthlink acct.... thats where I run up against the maximum allowed frequently then I have to break down and just do a mass delete.

You're not the only pack rat around here, Pengy......you should see my garage. I've got parts for machines that don't even exist anymore.

But as soon as I get rid of something, I need it the next day.

What I really need is a shorter memory! lol.

Why does the dog want to go out ALL THE FREAKING TIME?! I dont have the energy to chase him ALL THE FREAKING TIME! Isn't ten minutes every two hours or so enough? It's more than enough of a work out for me!

Re: RCMC 110: Born to Gaze into Night Skies

You know you are getting old when you would rather go to bed than eat cake, lol.

And that is where I am at this hour.

However, I have to wait for everyone to settle down before I can go to bed myself. Could take awhile.

Reminds me of something that I remember my pastor telling us years ago when I was a kid... He said that you know you are getting old when you visit Disneyland and are more interested in what you are going to eat next rather than what ride you are going to go on next... lol

I thought he was crazy! I would never think about the food more than the rides. Now when I am there, I think about him saying that all the time. Weird how age changes you, huh?

Hahaha I love that your pastor used Disneyland in an analogy. I think I'm getting old too.
