My oldest daughter, Lauren (you may know her here in the RCMC as "Lolo") was a competitive cheerleader. She still works and teaches at the all star cheer gym she "graduated" from. I am sure that you being in Texas have heard of all star competitive cheer? It is crazy big out there.
Lauren never was interested in dance or anything until she was 11. Then she discovered cheer and the rest is history, lol. She was always at a bit of a disadvantage however, because she could never tumble as well as the other girls, even though her other cheer skills were top notch. If she had started earlier....
My other three girls have danced since they were 3/4 years old. They all love it. With dance, if you are going to be serious or go professional with it as an adult you will know whether or not you can make it by age 12. Once you get too much past that age, it is too competitive to catch up.
I agree; I didn't know I could dance until I was 14. I would be signing and dancing for a living if I started at age 2..... oh well. Its a tough thing, I want her to have more options than me, but if I push.....
I grew up in San Diego and watched the huge, perfect teams from Texas with awe. We just moved here a few years ago, but I am keeping an ear/eye out.
Good advice about tumbling; I will check out that angle.
Fun chatting about dance!!
Now: anyone up for Kareoke (I can't spell, I'm a mathematician)

And again I'm reminded why I don't go to any other place on this site. Just looked at the round up and saw that the payment plan for AP's has been extended to all of CA. Of course that thread went you know where very quickly. Gahh people can be so mean.
It just seems that the subject of Annual Passes is a sore subject here at MiceChat. It also seems that some MiceChatters aren't happy, unless they are being abrasive.
I am watching the Rifleman. The Apaches have taken Mark McCain, and Lucas McCain has been badly injured. However, there's no way that Lucas McCain is not going to do everything in his power to get his boy back. I have never seen this episode before.
That seems to be the thing now is just to be aggressive and use the "I'm right, you're stupid" bit, I agree. It gets quite old, I'm just glad I have one little escape around here.
I've had quite the productive day; I got the whole house vacuumed, unloaded, reloaded and ran the dishwasher, did a load of wash, got the animals fed and medicated, dinner in the oven and ran out to my externship location to have her fill out paperwork. I'm pooped. Eeew and I just realized that's one big long run on sentence. Too tired to fix it lol
I'm never very productive lol. The only real reason I did all that in one day as opposed to doing it over a few days is that mom and Melissa have been in Disneyland since Monday and are coming home tonight. Don't want 'em coming home to a messy house.
I can usually get a lot done if I get up early, and no one else is in the house but me. I work much better alone, than when anyone else is around. Lately, it just seems that I have too many distractions to get anything productive accomplished.
I always had this dream about how my husband and I would live in our own house. Just the two of us, with our children after we had them. Of course, it never happened. We bought a 2 flat apartment building, and that means that I have a tenant. Now, of course, I also have my grandson and his mom. So my dream remains a dream. I'm never lonely. However, there are many times that I just want to be alone.
I usually get stuff done easier if I have someone to help clean, even if we work on totally different parts of the house. But with mom and Mel on vacation and Jessica at school all day, I had the house to myself and figured she wasn't gonna pick her mess up so I may as well do it.
I think my mom had a dream similar to that at one point; that all of us would graduate high school, get good jobs, go to college and MOVE OUT lol. We're all still in the house. I'm 7 weeks from being done with college but nowhere near financially able to live on my own because of the hole CA is in. Everything is so expensive and I don't have a job that works me enough or pays enough.
