Boy, that's one thing barn cats excel at.....keeping the mice down!

When I was a kid, we had a tom cat named Egore. He was black with a patch of white on his chest, he just looked like Egore. He was 30" long. He usually hung around the barns, and loved people.

One day I went to dump a bag of feed into the chickens feed bin, and the entire bottom of it was covered with mice. There must have been 100 of them in there!

They all scampered out, so I waited a couple of hours, then went and got Egore. He must have known something was up, because when we walked into the chicken coop, I could feel him tense up a bit, as if he were ready to spring.

I opened the top of the feeder and tossed the cat in. I've never seen fur fly so fast in my life!! Man, that cat was quick!

He got about 10 mice before they all ran out.

I noticed him hanging around the chicken coop more often, and I also noticed the mice dwindling down.

Oh my gosh... thankfully we never saw that many mice... but the cats always seemed well feed even if I didn't put much food out for them.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I agree Jess, he was out being happy. He wouldn't come in for anything last night, just being a spaz chasing a bug around. Trying to hold it together, I know I need to sleep, I have 6 days of working ahead of me. No time to stop and fall apart. I'll feel better once he's home again. Goodnight everyone.

reason:I did not think of takeing my camera,till ,I got there...

I did have a Blast there........
Went to ICE Museum,that were they done some ,real cool Ice craveing.....
went on there...SKY way .......went over were they had BBQ Food SMOKEING.....
and the smoke went into my face.....LoL
and went On a Big 15 story's Ferris Wheel!

saw some Pig's, Cow's... and had BBQ to eat
over all had nice afternoon,there
and weather was nice..........
