I have this trouble with French films too. But I gotta get over it. I'm taking the class because I will be studying abroad in Morocco next summer and all the classes are taught in French. Hence me pushing myself in this class. Which I should still be doing my homework for....but I'm not...guess I won't be sleeping tonight :-(
Yeah, it comes back fairly easy. I still have my college French book and the way the school was set up, you buy 1 French book and all the French classes they had used the one book, so I could just learn it all myself again. I can understand it fine for the most part. I pick up the key words and fill in the blanks. Studying abroad sounds really fun!

I've been home since last Thursday. Due to my foot infection I am taking IV antibiotics twice a day. Insurance provided me with a pole, and all the supplies I need. A visiting nurse also has come by to make sure I know how to do everything.
The always good news...I am still here.
And, I am still....HERE.
Very glad to hear you're home and doing better Barry!!

Morning all.... running behind as usual...
Re: RCMC# 121: Life is a highway... with friends along for the ride!
It's Tuesday, and that means laundry. It is sorted, but since it won't carry itself down the stairs, I need to get busy and do that.
Sean has an interview at DeVry Institute tomorrow. They are very close to our house. He is interested in computer classes. I guess they will tell him everything he needs to know, and he will learn if he is even eligible to attend classes there.

It surprises me at the thread topics that last a long time, and get a lot of replies. Then there are other ones, that just sit there, and nothing happens. Poof! They are gone.

I will always remember where I was on September 11, 2001.
I was an early morning newsman for KHAY in Ventura, CA...on vacation that week. It was a "stay-cay" as they say now. So I was asleep until after the second plane hit, at 6:03 am Pacific. My station called me and asked me if I wanted to come to work, and I said sure.
I will always remember, and how could any of us ever forget.
But I will say that if I was never asked to see that video again, it would be fine by me. It doesnt mean I have forgotten or don't care any more. Enough, already for me in that aspect.
Have a good Tuesday, everyone.

I was awoken earlier than the normal time to get ready for school. Mom asked if I still wanted to go, and me not fully understanding what happened even though the news was going and the fact we didn't know anyone there, I decided to go. I was in 7th grade. I was in first period English when the second tower came down. My teacher spent the entire period on the phone calling family. Nothing was done that day, no homework, nothing. More than half the people, student or otherwise, didn't come in.

Oh its going to be a long week... working extra at school tomorrow, going to the hospital after school for a computer class at the hospital on thurs, working all day at school Friday and maybe Monday....
Not happy with the politics going on at the hospital right now. And again I'm thinking that working at McDonalds might be more fun.
Re: RCMC# 121: Life is a highway... with friends along for the ride!
You don't wanna work there momma!
Re: RCMC# 121: Life is a highway... with friends along for the ride!
I dunno.... one of the supervisors last night (who herself has quit and last night was her last night) said both of her sons work at Micky D's and the people are friendly, and nice, and everyone gets along... no drama....
A lot of it is the changes in the healthcare system and how it affects little hospitals. All the burning hoops of fire that have to be jumped through to get our money from Medicare etc... so much pressure from so many directions.... corporate compliance issues... an acting DON who is on a major power trip right now for as long as she has the job.... Yeah, glad I'm only per diem and not there all the time.
Re: RCMC# 121: Life is a highway... with friends along for the ride!
Then you have my son, who is 19 years old, and trying to get his very first job. Hopefully someone will hire him soon, and he will at least like the job he finally gets, no matter what it is. He needs to learn the discipline of working. Responsibility is a good lesson to learn, and learn well.
Also today, he goes, and finds out about those computer classes.
As for me, I should be cleaning my bathroom today.
Re: RCMC# 121: Life is a highway... with friends along for the ride!
Well, my car died a slow and painful death and now I am back to carpooling with my mother to work. Sounds nice, right? Problem is she works 8-5 and I work 11-7:30. I'm so sleepy this morning, I could really have used the extra 3 hours of sleep. Oh well.
Good morning, all!
