If all the lights are out, and it's fairly new, it could easily be a fuse.
Most light strings have a small fuse in the plug. Sometimes it's between the blades that go into the socket, sometimes elsewhere in the plug.
To check it, plug something you know works into the outlet that the lights were plugged in to. If it works, then you know the trouble is in the light string.
Next, (you might need an extension cord for this), unplug where the first string is connected to the second string. Plug the second string into the outlet or the cord. This will tell you if the problem is in the first string or further down the line.
Eventually, you'll find one or more bad strings. Most likely a blown fuse in the plug of the bad string.

I'm sorry you're going through a rough time, Amanda. Unfortunately, work takes up a pretty fair amount of our time. And a lousy job seems to take up even more of it......
You're right, Outback is great! There are two of them in Reno. Once in a while, my daughter and I go there on one of our 'father-daughter dates'.
Even though the place is great, the coolest part is spending time with her, chatting about anything, everything or even nothing at all. Having her share her true feelings about stuff is one of the highlights of my entire life. It just doesn't get better than that.
Anyway, you've got a good character and a good spirit, Amanda. Though it doesn't seem like it just yet, sooner or later something better will come along, hopefully involving some sort of baking.
Hello
♥ "Don't care about all the pain in front of me'Cause I'm just trying to be happy." ♥
Hey there, Jim!!
My weekend was short; I had to work Saturday. 7AM to 6PM.
The oil plant is going through a pretty major remodel, and one item is the replacement of the steam boiler. A big one is being replaced by an even bigger one.
So, I spent a good part of Friday and all of Saturday getting it hooked up and starting it up. It finally lit off at about 3PM, and I waited around until it was up to pressure and shut itself off, then as the pressure went down, it started back up again.
This meant that all the controls and safeties worked as they should. So I went home.
So far, no frantic phone calls......
Lol.
Hey Jim!
Wait... didn't I already say that...?
Maybe you can fix it before!
Its so cool having an electrician around!
