Good Morning RCMC!
Welcome Jake!
Shoes...LOL...I think I like it.
I also think I have a crush on Rob, but don't tell him.
OK, so I should be in the shower getting ready to go to Casa Colina - they moved grandma there last night...but I'm procrastinating. So I'll tell you all the fascinating story of how we got her to the hospital.
As I said, she refused medical treatment. But we woke up on Friday morning and found her in the floor, unable to get up. We got her as comfortable as possible, but, realizing that we couldn't just leave her there, we concocted a plan.
Mom had been forbidden to call anyone, but I was blessedly not a part of that conversation. Also, Mom didn't call 911, and neither did I. I just happened to find some EMTs outside while I was smoking, and asked them to come help us get grandma back on the couch.
Well...in actuality none of that is false, except that I called the police station and spoke with their dispatcher. Anyway, the EMTs saw how bad she was and took her to the hospital against her will. They ran a bunch of tests which verified that she did indeed have a stroke, as well as a severe UTI, blood sugar and blood pressure both off the charts.
So anyway, the damage is done, and for now it looks extensive. But she is in the best rehab facility in the state, and we'll see what they can do for her. And she's gonna have to suck it up and take her meds like a good girl. But she is motivated to get going with her PT - all she wants to do is go home, and she knows that PT is her ticket. But its going to be a long road. They are estimating 4 weeks of rehab.
Anyway, that is my story. Thanks to all you wonderful folks for the thoughts and prayers for my family.
I'd better go now, but I just needed to get all that in writing.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
