we got new phones for the office today. so i set my voicemail up and it now says " welcome to movie phone. Press one to hear showtimes for..."

So how is your mom? I hope she's taking care of herself, this must be especially hard on her. Watching a loved one slip away is no fun. I went through this too many times with my family members and it never gets easy.

my friends and I went to Disneyland on Leap Day too, but we all had class that day so we left at around 8 AM. it was still really fun though. we left on a whim at 1 AM the night before, got there at 2 and waited in line till the parks opened at 6. sigh, such beautiful memories. ~_~ I miss my annual pass.

we only wanted to get the free hats. lol. and the process for getting those hats was so ridiculous that we almost missed them. then we went on 4-5 rides during the two hours we were there. I had class at 10, which was really bizarre to sit through right after being in disneyland.

yeah, it was definitely jarring! I'm actually shocked I had the physical strength to leave disneyland at 8 AM so I could got to school. lol. I think one of my friends must have had a quiz or something that they had to get to.

Was able to check a few times. So far they have been facing forward all day long.

That's what happened to me at DL's Leap Year Day last year. I must have had 20 cups of water and probably used every restroom at least once. It was a fun day but wow, was it ever crowded, especially after 11 pm.

I bet a lot of coffee and caffiene had people rushing to the urinals too.

yes, Lady N, my thoughts are with you and your family. I've lost all but one grandparent, and it's never easy. all you can really do is be there for each other. it sounds weird, but I actually have a lot of really nice memories with my family as we helped each other through the difficult times.

I like to call it "getting my priorities straight" and "planning ahead". They knew I would need those nights adjusted long before I took the position, and they needed the position filled badly, so it's a win-win!

Quick grandma update for those who care:

She had several seizures yesterday and is now in CICU at yet another hospital. They are running tests, but she is not really expected to live much longer. Thanks so much for your thoughts and prayers.

I may not be around too much, but I'll try to pop in now and then. You guys are great, and really provide me with some sanity sometimes. And I'm still planning on being at the anniversary, so I'll see some of you then.

Hang in there, as I know you have been. If this is the end, focus on comfort and being there for her and everyone else, but don't lose sight of taking care of yourself, too. You are all in my thoughts.
