A neighbor of my parents got bit by a Black Widow on his toe and it landed him in the hospital for days.
She's always been fearless with animals of any kind. She'd catch flies and put them in spider webs, we'd go frog hunting at night, catch em in little critter cages, we'd gather rollie polies (not at all sure how to spell that one lol) in Dixie cups, all kinds of stuff.

Every single insect you mentioned here do not kill with one bite...

I'm shivering just thinking about it.

SHE flipped out!!!! she fell to the floor and started to cry....

Thanks to all for the concern. Because of past phlebitis and possible stroke tendency I take Coumadin, a blood thinner. Every few weeks i have a blood test at the clinic to see if my dosage needs adjusting. And my foot wounds are dressed to make sure they don't get infected and send me back to the St Johns Hotel.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Barry! thanks for explaining! I was just thinking about why you would be in the clinic. So it was just regular testing?

she's probably just saying that as kids they were fearless and that her cousin didn't care that the spider was a black widow( even if she didn't know what it was), she didn't fear it.

True, but I think she just figured it was just another bug. But yes, she's lucky she didn't get bitten.

Snakes don't bother me, it's just spiders that bother me. Wanna see me cry like a child paralyzed with fear? Get me around a spider. Size doesn't matter either.
