Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

That is a weird question. I wonder if it's worded poorly and they're really asking how comfortable you are with computers?

Everytime I hear the word "alas" I think of Dumlbedore. Did he say it often or something? I have no idea where I got that association.

My favorite nurse is working!! He's been gone on a traveling assignment in Cali for a couple months, and will unfortunately be going back for a couple months. Boo.

I don't think so, because there's an accompanying question where they ask what you use the internet for. disney, that's really none of your business. :P

Dumbledore says "Alas, earwax," when he eats a Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Bean at the end of the first book, after having avoided them for decades because of an unfortunate occurrence with a vomit flavored one.

yay nurse! good company makes all time go by faster.

want another playlist this evening? :P

I know I typed out a response like 20 minutes ago but apparently it didn't post? Argh!

Slow Club -- "Sorry About the Doom"

The Shins -- "No Way Down"

fun -- "Walking the Dog" (RAC remix)

City and Colour -- "Sleeping Sickness"

The Reign of Kindo -- "Symptom of a Stumbling"

here you go. I love making these.

one of my big regrets for this year is not joining my school's radio station in the fall, because I instead spent my time and energy preparing for an a cappella audition that did not ultimately go successfully! -___- I have some friends with radio shows now and I seethe with envy. lol. I co-DJ with them sometimes, but they of course get to pick all the music. oh well! such is life

You sing? I didn't know that. That's awesome! Is it too late to join the campus station? Have you looked into any local stations?

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

well, I try. I mean I didn't get in the group, lol. guess I just gotta keep it in the shower/car. :P

yeah it's too late in that they generally don't take seniors after fall quarter, since you need to intern for a quarter before you get your own show.. so it's like, if you sign up during the winter, you're only REALLY going to contribute for one quarter (in the spring) and then you're gone. I guess they don't think that's worth it. womp womp. at least I get to have fun co-DJing regardless.

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

    I'm sure you're a great singer.

That does make sense as to why they won't take someone graduating soon. At least you get to co-DJ, like you said.

So I'm loving this music you're giving me, it's all stuff I haven't heard before. I liked all but the first song. I am just not a fan of most female singers except 40's type stuff.

I'm super picky about my music. I like a wide array, all different kinds of styles and eras, but only specific songs. It's weird. It drives my husband crazy because he listens to EVERYTHING.

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

yeah, judging by my music collection, I have an overwhelming preference for male singers over female. it's a bit sad. I love that song though, it's so raw and emotional!

I know what you mean about being picky about music. I like a wide variety of things, but it's pretty rare that I narrow into an album that I like and add it to my music collection. I never really know how to answer the question of "what kind of music do you like," because I don't really like any genres in broad terms, I just like particular bands and singers.

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

I was just thinking about who my favorite bands/singers are, and what popped into my mind was Andrews Sisters and Blink182. Ha!

The sad thing is when I'm driving, I almost always have the Disneyland ride soundtrack playing. I think I like it more for nostalgia than actually loving the music itself.

I'm reading that thread about interview questions. What positions are you applying for in CP?

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

Blink 182 brings back memories.... :P I love Disneyland music as well, of course. I used to listen to the audio for Fantasmic, Parade of Dreams, Remember Dreams Come True, etc. all the time. I've kind of grown out of that, but I still like to listen to Main Street/New Orleans Square area music from time to time. and I go through obsessive periods where I watch disneyland youtube videos constantly.

    my top five are:
    1. Attractions
    2. Park Greeter
    3. Front Desk or Guest Services
    4. Quick Service Food
    5. Merchandise/Retail

I might switch out the last one for something else. it'd be cool to work in disneyland and everything, but to be honest I think it'd kind of suck to go through all of this and end up with a regular-old retail job. I mean at least working at the churro cart is distinctly disneyland, whereas I could work in the Disney store by my house and it'd pretty much be the same thing.

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

What exactly does a park greeter do?

I totally agree on working a retail job in the park. I've always thought that would kind of be a "waste" because you don't really get to see or experience the unique parts of Disney.

Good ol' Blink. I haven't really listened to their new stuff, but Enema of the State and Take Off Your Pants and Jacket bring back great memories.

Re: RCMC #129 - We are on a mission!

A park greeter is the one who scans the tickets at the turnstiles. they probably have other duties, but when I click on it on the DCP website, it just shows me a picture of some girl being a park greeter, rather than listing a job description.... haha.

yowza! it's almost 4. have to get up at 9 so I can make it on time to claim my 10:00 reservation for a private study room in the library tomorrow. better head off to bed! goodnight!

I was just thinking that you made it pretty late tonight!! Thanks for staying up with me!

I guess Disney really does feel a picture is worth a thousand words.
