    Hello all,

Just stopped by to share the news. I got my email on Friday that I was accepted to the DCP at WDW...now it isn't quite the salary I was hoping for, so I had to crunch a bunch of numbers and beg mom to subsidize the semester, but...I'm going! I got the position in merchandise, which wasn't my first choice, but anything but food service or custodial is great with me.

    Anyway...how are y'all?

    Fold, fold, fold.

I have a friend who did merch and really liked one aspect about it. You do get stuck behind a register a lot, but are on the floor a lot which gives you time to interact with guests, lot's of it.

Custodial is the other one with massive guest interaction.

Wonder if you will be in a park, resort or DTD?

The old parts of Fantasyland, don't really blend in well with the new stuff. Too many fast passes. Although I guess they are thinking about the fact that it is hard for small children to wait for long periods of time.

The old stuff is really old in style. Disneyland updated it's FL in the 80's and the new Fantasyland in Florida would match it.

Lots of FP attractions in MK. There are too few attractions to spread out over so everything can get really crowded. Crazy lines compared to DL that has many more attractions in DL.

I don't mind register, actually. At least, I haven't in any of my previous jobs. Custodial...well, I've cleaned enough public restrooms in my life to satisfy my desire to ever do that again, so that one was a big "No Interest" for me. I'm not super thrilled to be in retail, but it is at least SOMETHING besides food service on my resumé. Plus the classes will be interesting, and it gets me out of the coffee shop for a while. So overall I'm pretty stoked. And I've never been to WDW, so this will be an adventure.

I went to see the new 42 movie today, and recommend it to anyone, sports fan or not.

One of its stars, Harrison Ford, threw out the ceremonial first pitch at Dodger Stadium tonight. His wife Rachel is there tonight among others.
I thought Harrison Ford is married to Callista Flockhart?

    Lovely quote.

And, yuck! Asparagus?! Double yuck! That's my second least favorite vegetable. Second only to brussel sprouts. I call asparagus the stuck-up green bean.

    Happy Hump day.

He is. He married her in 2010. I think the reference was to Rachel Robinson, Jackie's widow.
