Well since the rest of the world is in Anaheim and I'm not.... ... Thought I should check in.

Random update: Going to Palm Springs to look at a car tomorrow. I put in an offer, they said they could match it on what I want.... so we'll see what happens. Relieved and scared silly at the same time. I've got a nice size down payment from the insurance company.... but I will still have car payments again which I hate since my other car was paid for... but at least with the large down payment it shouldn't hurt to bad. Then again it was also nice not having to pay insurance for a couple months.... And other expenses coming down the road.. but then thats life eh?

Oooo Pengy might be getting a car again….. Hope it all works out for you

I should be in bed and sleeping but I'm not sleepy. I did an interview with a middle school for an attendance clerk position. It went pretty well. They'll decide next week. The commute isn't that great though, probably 45-60 mins each way.

Tomorrow doing a testing with the sanitary district. Thats only 15 mins from me and pays more than the school i just interviewed for. So we'll see what happens. Although the school district job is an 11 month work year so I'll assume you get a month off in summer?? It said you work 202 days with 15 holidays and 11 vacation days. Trying to figure that one out as far as actual working days. A full year is 260 days.

I will be missing again this year. And guess what? I know at least a few people that have told me they will miss me.

    Hello RCMC.
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.

Well.... maybe. We'll see. I made an offer we'll see if they really will honor it.

Um... more money is always good... then again having time off during the summer is nice. As someone who works for a school. The days only count when school is in session. As an 11 month employee you will have a month off (I'm guessing July), and the 200 odd working days are the days you are there. You will also get holidays off (most paid), and those days don't count on the school calendar.

    Hey penguinsoda:

I've got this little beauty that I could put you in for say $10,000?
You would look good driving it. And it gets pretty good gas mileage if you don't speed. Just a thought.

Well that is a nice car for sure.... and the price isn't bad.... but I don't think I could afford the insurance on that one!

    But... this happened...

    And hey!!! Its blue too!!!

Seems to drive pretty nice for a small car. But darn... the new car smell... stinks.... not like the old days when they smelled good. I actually have a headache from the smell and I can still smell it on my clothes... will have to get some better pictures later.

Re: RCMC #135 - Merry Christmas - Happy New Year

Hi everyone. I'm totally exhausted. My friend prebooked a cabin north of Lake Tahoe on the chance it may snow earlier this week. Thursday night he called and said let's go. It was a gamble and we are basically not winning or loosing. There is not a lot of snow up here, but it is coming down like crazy. It's fine on the runs that had packed, groomed snow under the new snow, but off those trails there are lots of rocks and logs to look out for.

We did Alpine today and are going to Squaw tomorrow.

I'm not so sure, I'll make it back for work on Monday as the forecast is not great for driving tomorrow night.

Next year I'm trying for a summer internship at Stark Industries.

    Cool car, Pengy!

It's low enough that it'll be easy to get in and out of, plus two-doors have bigger doors.

Us old-timers have to watch that kind of stuff.....lol.

It'll also be easy on gas. That makes a big difference these days.
