Well from now on it's win to advance, and lose to go out, except for the semifinals.

While that Canadians will be tough, I don't really want to play Russia, Finland or Switzerland. But they can eliminate each other.

And I'm recovering from the weekend. But... overall it wasn't to bad this weekend. It was busy, but just busy enough to help the days go by pretty quickly but not insane. I am however, pretty tired. Will see how long I can stay awake. So happy that tomorrow is a holiday and there is no school!

Tomorrow must be a free day for you, no hospital because it would normally be school.

Monday morning, and I slept late. I need to do some cooking and stack up some meals for my son who comes for dinner during his break at work. He has never complained about what I cook, but I am running out of ideas.

I make these little concoctions, that I just call crescent rolls. They are a pain to make, but the kids have always liked them. Ground beef, shredded cheese, spaghetti sauce, crescent rolls. Easy ingredients, but time consuming.

When it comes to cooking for my son, I have to make stuff that will warm up fast in the microwave. Before I started cooking for him, I think he ate all his dinners at the local McDonald's. Mot sure my meals are any more wholesome, but it does save my son some money.

Re: RCMC #135 - Merry Christmas - Happy New Year

It is snowing again in Chicago. My husband works in Bourbonais, Illinois, and he just called to tell me that he isn't going to try and drive home. I guess his coworker Dave, invited him to spend the night. Saves my husband from driving through falling snow, and it's suppose to continue snowing all day, I guess.

Looks like I will be lifting that snow shovel again.

I take it that it is snowing a lot, or the temperature is changing and it's icy?

Re: RCMC #135 - Merry Christmas - Happy New Year

My husband's job is 56 miles away. In perfect traffic, it should be an hour's drive. In these conditions, with falling snow, icy roads, well that time, can double and triple the time it would take him. Now if today was a Friday, he would make the effort to get home. However, since tomorrow is only Tuesday, he has made the better call, not to make the drive, only to have to wake up in the middle of the night to do it all over again. My husband leaves the house at about 3 a.m., and puts in lots of overtime, and is usually back home again by 3 p.m. in the afternoon. So 12 hours of his day is dedicated to work. Doesn't give the man too much time for rest and relaxation. Oh, how we would love to bring back the days when his job was a 15 minute drive right here in Chicago. Then his company moved. First to Libertyville, and now to Bourbonais. He can't wait to retire, although he's afraid he will never be able to afford that. He is the kind of man who helps everybody else out. Although he also says he couldn't stay home all day either. Some men work way too hard, but yet they can't really stop working all together either. That's my husband.

I used to drive almost 2 hours one way to work. It got old fast, and there wasn't any snow to navigate. Now I work at home and Babes works 1 mile away at DL.

    Much nicer.
