Well, phase three of Splash's Summer Vacation Spectacular begins tomorrow. I'll be heading down to Boise, then up to Weiser where I will wait until Wednesday to go to camp up in McCall Idaho. MORE pictures will follow.

    Are you kidding?
    Crete > Banff + California

I'm sorry to hear about the trip cancellation though. Our Euro trip came very close to being cancelled due to family issues as well. Luckily it didn't happen.

    This is Banff:

A very popular mountain resort town about an hour west of Calgary.

Well, it is a very popular tourist destination. It's a godsend if you like outdoorsy stuff like hiking, kayaking, backpacking, skiing (especially skiing), etc.

Banff (and in some ways, Calgary) is fairly similar to where I live, on the edge/in the heart of the Rockies. That's a lot of money, SMF, how are you paying for that all?

I'm envious. Normally, I take a vacation every summer, but my better half has to work and can't get time off. Strangely, I don't want to travel alone. So --have fun!

    Peace, too,

Well, Europe was a splurge to say the least. We've never gone on a vacation like that before.

Banff was a family reunion, all compliments of my grandfather.

McCall costs about $300, not too bad for a summer camp

California: I have family there who I stay with, so accomodations and food are not an issue. Only flying there costs money, and we can usually get around 100 to 150 round trip from Boise to Burbank (thank god for Southwest Airlines!).

So really, the only vacation where we spent a lot of money was Europe.
