In the case: Carl, Russell, Dug, Kevin, and the 3 main "hench-dogs." Would have liked Charles Muntz as well, but better than nothing.
von Drake is at the Disney Stores?? Hmm...I may have to drive the hour to go get him instead of having him shipped...He will go great with my Scroooge that was realeased a year or so back!

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

If ever there was a case to be made for opening your toys versus keeping them in packaging, I dug out a Palisades Fozzie for the sole purpose of opening it up and the bubble came off very easily. I guess the glue had lost its bonding strength over the years.

Yes! That's it. All those years of undoing twistie ties and breaking off clear rubber bands in toy packaging!

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

I never opened mine, but coheteboy won the battle a little and now I spend twice as much money buying one for shelf and one for package.

Don't do that! I USED to buy 2 of everything between 1995-2003. I realized that I wasted my money and space and ultimately time when I had to sell all the carded stuff. Just buy to open.

I agree with this now
I had to collect sets of Mcdonald toys as collectors items.
eventually it became a hassle, the collecting got too expensive and stopped..
so i might sell them on the site in case someone wants any of them.

so now anything i buy..i open them and display them

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

I'm not the best example for this as I'm only just now opening up the Palisades Fozzie and Kermit that I've had for years (they've been buried in storage). Unless you put the carded/packaged toys in some sort of protective case, the cardboard will start to degrade a bit or get really dusty.

Besides, it's a lot more fun to open them up!

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

Has anyone ever purchased a Sideshow premium format figure? They have a Rocketeer and Evil Queen that look amazing. What's the difference between these and the medicom 12" figures? Is it worth the purchase?

The first major difference is SIZE. Premium Format figures are massive, take up a lot of space, and cost a lot of money.

Second, they're not action figures. Some won't have any points of articulation. Some might have one or two.

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

These may not actually be new but they're new to me. I saw Haunted Mansion figures at Disneyland today. Approximately 4" tall, they had the Caretaker, the Bride and 2 of the Hitchhiking Ghosts.

I think they're repaints of figures that were released a few years back. Really bad sculpts and cheap plastic. I'll have to pass.

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

They are, but in a different material. The old ones I have were textured blue/grey/white where the new ones are cast in a white glow in the dark plastic (the old ones also glowed). Teh new ones don't come with any of the same accessories or the old packaging which was much cooler.
