Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

I just saw the new Batman and Superman figures in person today and they are horrable I do not like the way they look at all. I'm going to skip them. They look like a 5 year old made them that is how bad they are to me.

To each, his/her own then. Public Enemies Batman is the best 6" Bats figure I have in my collection. The film itself was great too.

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

Agreed. The batman figure is one of my favorites. Icicle and Silver Banshee aren't my favorites but saying that a 5 year old did it is a little low. I mean... at least spell older than that if you're going to criticize it.

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

I was just at Toys R Us and they had the pre-order cards for collectible figures. There were only 2 right now, a Gears of War 2pack and one for Bioshock's Big Daddy.

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

Target has some Jun Planning Nightmare Before Christmas mini figures in the trading card section for $2.99.

I got the Snowman Jack just to see what they were like. Especially for the price, they aren't bad at all. My set came with a Snowman Jack, 3 elves and a bear.

Is Jun continuing their nightmare line? I loved series 1, but haven't heard any news on a wave 2?

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

All this talk about the Sesame Street anniversary got me into reminiscing about this Playskool (at least I'm pretty sure they were the manufacturer) Sesame Street Neighborhood playset that I had as a kid. Basically it was a paper floormat plus cardboard walls and plastic roofs and bottom supports for you to build the Sesame Street buildings. The characters were cardboard cutouts as well with plastic stands to hold them up. Pretty crude by today's standards yet it brought hours upon hours of fun for me.

Back then I would mix universes like nobody's business so it wasn't just for Sesame Street characters but all of the toys that I owned so I'm pretty sure I had R2, Stormtroopers and Boba Fett walking the streets of Sesame Street.

For us action toy collectors, there's a few new exclusive goodies that's starting to hit Walmarts like a Star Wars AT-ST, Dewback and the US Version of the Transformers Masterpiece Skywarp. Unfortunately, I have not had time to visit any of the not so local Walmarts lately.

I REALLY wish Palisades could have remained in business enough to make the Sesame Street figures...those were just as good as the Muppet ones, obviously, and they had some great figures planned!

Agreed. It is a shame no one has picked up the molds to do more.

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

Oh yes, the Palisades line that never was. That was definitely another line I would've gotten into, at least for the core characters.

I wouldn't have gone as serious as I did with Muppets, but I probably would have bought a few more than just the core characters. Guy Smiley in series 1? Yes please!

Re: Toy Collecting Chit-Chat thread.

Don't know if this offer is in the states as well, but it may interest Coheteboy and those of you collecting Star Wars. I just came back from TRU and there is a mail-in offer for a Qui-Gon Jinn and Eopie fig. You have to mail in 5 UPCs from any figure in the Star Wars line and a ckeck or money order for $6.99 US or $8.99 Canadian (Ok, so I guess it's available in thst states also). Offer ends March 31, 2010.

LOL. Yeah I just sent mine in today. I look forward to filling one of the holes in my collection. I only need Pablo Jill and Sio Bibble to finish off the older stuff.

I was just thinking... wasn't the Qui-Gon Jin and Eopie fig available 10 years ago when Phantom Menace toys first came out?
