I got all of my toys on disneystore.com. I just pre-ordered Ultimate Buzz and with the labor day sale it saved $60. I'm surprised ToysRus got buzz so early. Cause when I ordered my Ultimate Wall-e I think i was one of the very first one's to receive him. How is Buzz? Good? Do you have any older buzz's? How does he compare. I have my original 1995 buzz right now. The one without the glow in the dark and i thought he was pretty good already. I really didnt care for the glow in the dark paint version. the paint seems to chip. I'm pleased with woody, but I also like my original woody cause he is fully posable which is film inaccurate and awesome at the same time.

Thanks! I'm kinda new to the photographing world so I'm still figuring out how to take a decent picture. Trial & error for sure!

And are we talking about the same Buzz? The Buzz Im talking about comes in the rocket ship box. I think there's an Ultimate Buzz that's something else entirely.

And as for differences between 1995 Buzz (which I have) and the new one is plenty.

First of all, the box is awesome. Included inside the package are the wings so you can have it as close to the movie as possible:

Second, he has articulation in the neck, fingers, and much better in the waist. The black tube above the waist is a soft rubber and he's able to tilt left and right, forwards and backwards.

Try to do this pose with 1995 Buzz:

Third, here's a side by side. You'll notice the improvement in sculpt and paint immediately. New buzz also has his wrist communicator on his left arm, something that was absent in the original.

Fourth, the wings light up and fold down as they do in the movie. The original just sticks out and doesn't have as good of a wing span. On top of that, his backside looks like swiss cheese!

John Lasseter asked us to buy two: one to keep in the box, one to open. I instead stuck the original 1995 Buzz in the box. There he will stay.

Hope this answers some questions!

EDIT: JUST noticed your video to ULTIMATE BUZZ. Thanks!

Wow. the New Buzz looks awesome!

Yes, the original original Woody had wire inside of him so he was fully possible. But Disney felt it might be a choke hazard so they removed it shortly after. Mines, well both of mine, are in storage right now since I'm in the middle of moving, but I'll snap some pics when I can get access to him again. Also his shirt buttons were better. The looked more authentically sewn on. The non posable looks kinda funny. his arms are in the shape of a bow sorta. Also the originals have separate fingers. The new ones are stuck together. so they all have their ups and downs.

Original Woody AND 2nd Edition

A great site to see the original toys are here:

Toy Story Toys - Original Series Talking Buzz Lightyear & Pull-String Woody

The only one I'm missing is Hamm. Super rare and super expensive for something that doesn't speak.

And if your thinking about pre-ordering Ultimate Buzz, Be sure to use the coupons codes COOKOUT and SHIPTODAY. It will take off $60

Re: New line of Toy Story toys to be released

Thanks for the info! I still probably wouldn't want that Woody either since he has a huge smile. I really want a Woody that's accurate to the film.

And thanks for the code but I don't think that Ultimate Buzz is for me. Way too much electronics and nothing that impressive to show for it. I'm totally happy with the Buzz I have now.

Re: New line of Toy Story toys to be released

I did a little shooting with the toy soldiers today! Unfortunately i couldn't get the shot of the two parachuters... i just couldn't focus in time and nobody was around to help toss them down for me. So here's all I got..

And then i ran out of time.

Re: New line of Toy Story toys to be released

Orbitalpunk can you answer me a question on Rex? I'm afraid that they left out his jaw articulation on the final product. Can you confirm? That was my whole reason for wanting it, then i ordered it on disneystore.com and then saw that he seems to not be as precise as Lasseter claims he is.

Did you design your house according to Andy's? Seriously. You have his bed, railing, drawers. Its awesome! I love these photos.

Rex's mouth does not move. Its pliable. Like maybe they were about to but ditched the motors.

I ran over to toysRus and got a buzz. Man the boxes were beat up. They even got a box of 6 from storage and they were all crushed in some way. Any way to find a pristine box? Cause I want a second one for the accurate packaging.

Aww, no ultimate buzz. man i love him. he cracks me up. maybe he will interact with my ultimate wall-e with they mics and ir sensors. hehe.

Haha thanks for the comments. I'm lucky that my parents bought a house that has a lot of cool places to shoot. My apartment on the other hand... not very photographic.

Thanks for letting me know the bad news about Rex. Ugh, that really bums me out. It just makes John Lasseter kinda look less credible when he says "we were never able to make the toy andy has.. until NOW." it's still not the real version.

I wonder if it has any size differences between it and the $30 version that's in the store?

The $30 one doesn't talk at all. The box says it's movie scale so I'm not sure what the other differences are until I get mine from disneystore.

Re: New line of Toy Story toys to be released

Got my REX from disneystore a while ago but was only able to take photos of it this weekend. For the price, REALLY disappointed. The tail keeps falling off and he's basically a large vinyl toy. Would be nice to have some jaw articulation. Is that too much to ask?

Re: New line of Toy Story toys to be released

Just dropped back into this thread and I am very happy to see you expanded your collection. I know your bummed about rex, but I think its still nice to have when posing them as bunch. I just won the 1995 version of Hamm and he doesnt do anything. But he completes the gang Nice pics as always. Really excellante.
