Walt Disney Treasures

Does anyone here like to collect Walt Disney Treasures?

Which ones do you have so far?

Re: Walt Disney Treasures

Oh yeah! I have bought each and every one since the first wave.

So far my favorites have been the Disney Rarities and Elfeugo Baca (sp?) and Swamp Fox sets.

I enjoyed them mostly because they were programs I had never seen (or heard of) before.

I also have become a big Leonard Maltin fan because of the sets. Before these sets I thought of him the way I thought of most film critics (grumpy hacks who hate movies) but he seems to really, really love Disney films.

The joy you see on his face when he tells you about the films or interviews guests seems so genuine.

I like Leonard Maltin too. I like it that he explains on some Disney questions that I have had in my mind. But I have nevered asked anyone; because I wasn't around too many Disney fans like myself; when I had theses question in my mind.

He also hosted a The Little Rascals collection . In which I also enjoyed in the past too.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures

To answer my own question. I have collected so far...

Mickey Mouse B&W vol.1 and vol.2
Mickey Mouse in True Color vol.1 and vol.2
Donald Duck vol.1 & vol.2
The Complete Goofy
Pluto vol.2 and (I should be getting vol.1 today)
Disney Rarities
Mickey Mouse Club
Disneyland USA
Backstage
Your Host, Walt Disney

I think that's all I have right now. I'll comeback if I forgotten anything.

I so much look forward to the Wave 7 coming out. The first one I would want is the Oswald the Lucky Rabbit one.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures

I have all of them, but seldom make the time to watch them.

Yeah, some of them are still in the shrink wrap.

But I have them. That counts, right?

I bought his Little Rascals book. It is amazingly detailed.

I saw Maltin (with Roy Disney) on stage at an event in Philadelphia last week. I wrote a little report about it:

Re: Walt Disney Treasures

I have mostly the cartoon collections which are my favorites for obvious reasons. Mickey in B/W Vol. 1 & 2, Mickey in Living Color Vol 1 & 2, Complete Goofy, Chronological Donald Vol. 1, My Disneyland USA copy was stolen. I also have the Front Lines one. I tend to find the Leonard Maltin scenes annoying but luckily the skip button on my remote works wonders. The cartoons usually look great except for the last wave. I blame Disney greed in rushing the sets or spending as little money as possible. I am looking forward to the new sets however hopefully the quality from the first sets will make a return. I think it will because the Oswald toons will definately need some restoration work.

Re: Walt Disney Treasures

I have The Complete Pluto vol's 1 & 2. But it's really not the "complete" Pluto... there's several Pluto cartoons they didn't put on these, including the one with Pluto & the racoon which is my favorite one. I'm disappointed!
