    Clip-in hair extensions

    Ever tried them?

I've been playing with the idea of adding a few aqua/turquoise streaks under the top layer of my hair for a little kick (I hate having "normal" hair sometimes). Well, now that I'm job hunting, I don't want to do anything drastic with the color until I find something. Hot Topic sells clip-in extensions in funky colors, so I decided to see if the had aqua/turquoise... and they did! They're by Color Fiend.

Took me awhile to figure out how to get them in, but now that I know, it's easy. And they look so cool! It's synthetic hair, but you can style them and wash them and stuff. Awesome if you want to do something funky with your hair but don't want to mess with dye.

I think Manic Panic sells ones that are real hair. Might look into those at a later date. But I can't wait to surprise the BF with these this weekend. He's going to freak! LOL!

    Re: Clip-in hair extensions

That sounds awesome! I'm a teacher so I can't do crazy colored highlights or anything, but it would be fun to do something like that on the weekends, or going out on a weeknight! Do you have a pic of how it looks in your hair?

So they just clip in? kinda like a barrette?

They're on little combs. You put them pretty much at the scalp on a part.

These are what the Manic Panic ones look like:

And these are the Color Fiend ones:

I want to get some red ones too.

    Re: Clip-in hair extensions

So I put my extensions in again today and when I went out to get the mail, I rant into my neighbor walking her dog. She was like "When did yo do that to your hair?" I showed her they're just clip-in and she said, "Those are so cool!" I'm waring them out at trivia tonight. Should be interesting what people say.

OHH i want some! But I'd probably go with the natural human hair ones. I've always wanted like pink color extensions, but actually if I had enough money I'd go all out for a full set of 6 human hair extension clips in my own hair color.

I thought about getting the human hair ones, but they didn't have them in turquoise.

They're $5.99 at Hot Topic and you get 2 pieces in the package.

that's really cool. I wanted to put pink highlights in my hair...but, thought they might look funny at church. haha. This would be perfect. I'm gonna look for them when we head to the mall this week. Thanks Aimster.

    Re: Clip-in hair extensions

Be careful when you try to style them. Excessive heat on the synthetic hair will fry them and the ends will split. I want to get some human hair ones in like a real light blonde and then dye them the turquoise color the synthetic ones are. The human hair extensions are easier to style since it's human hair. It'll hold a curl and all that.
