    Shoes and Skirts?

So I finally bought some skirts, one khaki, and one a dark green. They are long. I bought a pair of boots to wear with them and the first time I wore them the zipper snapped.

So my question is, until I can get my boots fixed what can I wear with the skirts during the fall and winter? I really only have sneakers and slip ons.

I wear sneakers with short or long skirts because I don't have boots or other shoes that I can stand to wear for periods of time. Yeah, it looks tacky, but oh well.

    No. Sneakers. With. Skirts. EVER.

Boots aren't neccessary during fall or winter, you can get by with any closed-toed dress shoe or heel. Sandals and open toes are kind of out now, you may be able to pull of a peep-toed heel, but you can't go wrong with close-toed heels.

If you aren't willing to go the extra mile and wear the right shoes, don't bother with the skirts. It won't look right and you'll defeat whatever purpose you initially had in introducing the skirts to your wardrobe.

How about brown tights and brown shoes with heels that will give the illusion of boots?

You can probably find pretty affordable tights and shoes at Payless Shoe Source or Ross or some place like that.

How long are the skirts? Some cute black flats would probably look good with them. Or a simple pump would look nice too.

That reminds me... I want some silver flats.

    Plus Size Skirts at WomanWithin.com

That's one type I have, the other is just as long.

I think I have some flats around here. I just can't do heels I don't have the balance for them. I just don't want to look to business formal.

    Thanks for the input everyone.

Oh for a skirt that long you need heels. I was thinking they were like knee-length or something. Flats with a long skirt do not look all that good.

buy some small heels. You don't have to wear stilettos.

    Cute skirt!

I think you need to get your boots fixed as soon as you can.

I wouldn't try to have the boots repaired, I'd return them for a replacement. Boots shouldn't do that on a first wear. Meantime, you'll need something other than sneakers to pull that skirt look off correctly. Flats, low pumps, kitten heels.

Small heels I can do, if I can find some in my size.

I can't return them, the return period ended about a week ago.

When I got them I slipped them on to check the size and to see if the zipper worked. It did do I put them up and didn't wear them until a few days ago when I didn't want to wear my sneakers.

I figured it was something like that, or they didn't have any more in your size or the right color.

In any case, the skirt is so cute and boots seem just perfect for it.

I'd still try to take them back anyway. Explain the situation, ask to speak with a manager if you have to and you never know... they might be willing to let you exchange them. Worst they can do is say no.

They didn't come from a store, I got them online. When I bought them I was too drain from working to even go out on my days off. So shipping might be more than just getting it fixed.

I know I'm being so stupid.
