Red Face Disney's "The Story of Menstruation"

I found this video awhile back and thought it was really interesting, for a variety of reasons.

It shows the importance of Disney's contributions to education as well as entertainment.
For its time, it is actually rather bold in some ways.... BUT reproduction is discussed without EVER mentioning sex.

AND

Lastly, I think the old fashioned advice about how to handle pms is hysterical. The image of the depressed animated girl in front of the mirror is something I can relate to; she looks pretty miserable Remember though girls, we must not let it get us down.....
"Once you stop feeling sorry for yourself and take those days in your stride, you'll find it's easier to keep smiling and even-tempered."

Enjoy!

That was pretty good and progressive! It used to be common to view periods as a shameful thing, that made it "a fact of life" that you just have to deal with. I wish they had shown something like that in school to me. My mom never gave me the talk so as you can imagine, it came as quite a shock.

Re: Disney's "The Story of Menstruation"

I find it very disturbing, though hilarious, that Disney has a video about menstruation. I can't believe that a Disney video just used the words "constipation", "rectum" and "vagina"! Hahaha, I loved how that girl was riding on the horse and also how she wore a shower cap when she bathed. This move is a tad bit aged

Constipation?! No HOT showers? This video was pretty funny. Much better than the malarky I had to sit through in 5th grade.
