    ballerina flats........

I want to buy my gf a pair of ballerina flats for her b-day, since she has never had a pair and has always mentioned that she would like a pair. I have heard horror stories about these shoes and how uncomfortable they are, that they smell and such. Is it worth the investment??

If she likes them, it's worth it. To avoid any disappointment, I strongly suggest you allow her to pick which ones. Take her shopping, that way she can choose the style, fit, etc.

    Re: ballerina flats........

My daughter and I each have a pair of ballet flats that a LOT of women and girls own. They are from Payless Shoesource and they are just your basic black with a black bow. They cost about $12.00. They took us two days to break in and that's it. I wore them to the Gumball Rally and I dodn't think my feet have ever been as comfortable at DL. Also, ballet flats are great if you actually do ballet and have to walk from the car to the ballet studio because then you can just slip them off and put on your ballet slippers. I think your girlfriend will love them.

By the way, they shouldn't get smelly if she wears some kind of socks or tights with them.

they make little sock just for them. a trick for wearing them with shoes that have a lot of toe cleavage (haha) is to turn them around so the toe part is on the heel. then they cover the tips of your toes just enough to stay on and be comfy, but not show.

I agree let her pick out what she likes. That way she can try them on, make sure they're comfortable and all that.
