My Sephora is about 20 minutes away over in Tampa. I actually need to go there tomorrow because I'm just about out of my Bare Minerals foundation! ACK!

I must confess...I have never EVER set foot inised a Sephora store. Even when we do start visiting DLR I will probably still not visit the store. I have some sort of mental block against makeup stores. I always feel extremly out of place and I prefer to do my shopping online.

Well, I finally made it to Sephora today. Got a new supply of bare Minerals foundation and tinted mineral veil (the regular makes me look too washed out).

It's in the new section of Washington Square.....between Cheesecake Factory and Pottery Barn Kids...might be some other stores in between, but those are the places I honed in on.

The store isn't big, but it's got a good selection. I was impressed--much much much better than our Ulta! I feel so lucky! I'll probably take the older two girls there tomorrow while Chloe is at school. Several news stations were there (wasn't just Sephora opening, there were 28 new stores), including The Oregonian. I was present when they took the pic that ended up on the front of the Business section the next day. Very cool article about how shoppers get to explore and how many departments stores may be moving in the same direction....sales people not making commission on certain brands, but allowing women to try things on, then providing assistance and supported as requested. I'd love that. As it is, I hate the sales pitches I get at department store cosmetics counters. I'd rather buy online, than get a pitch!!

And it's only 5.3 miles!! Cause that makes a whole hell of a lotta difference. But when your closest Sephora has been a plane-ride away, I swear every centimeter counts!

There is one in Brea now as well. That is nice cause that means I don't have to treck to South Coast Plaza if the DTD location doesn't have something.

As for Bakersfield, that area is booming right now. I bet you get a Sephore soon. Heck, you are getting a Super WalMart that means there is "buying power" there.
