I'm Too Old To Be Hit On - but fun has no age limit!

I must admit that while I browse the MiceChat forums, I see the threads that have been started, which have the word "Hit" in their title.

I got hit as a kid back in the early 50's by my dad, when I misbehaved. By hit, I mean a slap across my bottom when I didn't do as I was told. I soon learned, and the hitting stopped. Oh yes, you're not talking about that kind of hitting.

Then when I was a teenager, I was walking through the school yard with some friends, and a baseball hit the school wall, bounced, and then hit me smack dab in the middle of my eye. Wrong again, you're not talking about that kind of "hitting" either.

The world is made up of two types of people.

    The girls, and the boys.

I happen to be a girl, well at least once upon a time I was. Now I am an older girl, 63 years old. I guess I can remember something about the "hitting" of which you all speak. It was long ago, but I guess it stopped about the time I married the man that I have been married to for the last 44 years.

44 years, and no hitting. Not the kind that hurts anyway.

I may be too old to be hit on, but fun has no age limit.

Carry on with the "hitting threads". I smile when I see all the titles go by.

63 is NOT too old to be hit on. There were quite a few men at the retirement home of my grandmother and they would flirt with her all the time. She was 82 when she went to the retirement home. I think that once you get to a certain age or when you are married, you don't really notice who is looking at you with interest. I don't notice it but my husband does.

I, too, have noticed how the EBHO threads have multiplied into different versions. And you are one of the few in MiceChat that is my senior--but only by a couple years.

The "original" and its direct descendants are in the Lost Boys lounge, just in case you didn't know.

Actually, it all started in the Teen Scene and was brought into Lost Boys and now here.

No. It started in the Lost Boys Lounge, and then it went to Teen Scene. I realize it's a bit of a phenomenon around here. I may not have posted in any of the Hit On threads, but I do make myself aware of what is going on around here.

The kids in the Teen Scene are quite creative with their titles.

My dad never flirted, but he always told my mom, there's no harm in looking.

Ooooo - okay, I was told by one of the teens that it started in their lounge.

Clarification. If you read the very first post of this linked thread, you will see where MainStreetJake starts the Teen Scene threads, and admits how the idea started in the Lost Boy forum.

I remember when the Teen Scene was first started. The forum was a whole lot bigger than the way the forum is set up now. In it's original form, the Teen Scene was a bit of a failure. Quite frankly, it wasn't until the start of these "Hit On" threads that the Teen Scene became the popular forum it is today.

I may be old, but I do a lot of reading, and especially of new posts. I remember reading that thread, the day Jake started it.

That is too funny. Not only did the teen who told me NOT start the original thread in TS but he didn't start any of the threads at all. I think someone was yanking my chain. *shakes head* I was dupped.

Must do your research. Don't take everything at face value.

So... I guess this is EBHO, Senior Edition.

The thing I like about the EBHO series in Lost Boys is the diversity of the participants. An interesting chemistry has developed that's still evident today.

There aren't really that many of us seniors (not really fond of that word) around here. Actually I like hanging around with the youngsters. Quite frankly, the Lost Boy's threads kind of scare me.

Right now my turkey is taking a bath in a pan of cold water in my kitchen sink. I do this every year for a few hours to make certain that the entire thing is defrosted. It's no fun getting ready to roast the bird, and he's, or is that she's all frozen inside.
