    Snacking help-stress eater here!

    Ok- you all are brilliant- maybe you can help me!

    I get stressed- I eat. It calms me, and gives me something to do-

    and it plays hell with my weight!

    I had dropped almost 20 pounds this year- then Davis came home- chaos erupted, and I have been eating too much again.

    Having a desk job doesn't help- I sit here and I get this urge to snack.

    And yesterday I found out I had put about 14 pounds back on.

    I am so down about that-

    So- what do I do? Are there snacks I can munch on during the day that satisfy the munchy needs but don't pack on calories?

    I eat pomagranits, they take forever to eat and enough to keep my hands buisy. lots of sugar free gum and prayer!!!! I hear ya on the gain, I have gained back a lot to and am sad, but working on it now!!

    my favorite...

    I take cottage cheese (8 oz) and one dry ranch mix packet, mix them together, put it thour the food proccessor if you want it creamy.
    and you now have a healthy, flavorful dip for veggies (carrots and celery are the best...) you get a lot of flavor and a satisfying crunch and because it's protien and fiber it will fill you up so your not so hungry...
    added benifit you are also getting calcium. and you can modify the fat content depending on what cottage cheese you like,

    If you food process it, it comes out as smooth as a sour cream dip but much better for you....I do this at BBQ's no one believes it's cottage cheese.

    Bonus: it's cheap because it makes a whole 8 oz container lots of snacking oppertunities.....

    Try marinating carrot and celery sticks in pepprika, lime juice, and a dash of salt overnight.

    Or, put light cream cheese on a whole wheat tortilla and microwave. Add thinly sliced tomatoes at room temperature... yum!

    Two tasty, yet extremely easy to prepare snacks...

    Don't eat apples that much. I remember when I ate apples, they made me hungrier.

    I have also heard that if you take smaller bites of food and chew it slow, you get fuller faster. The reason why is because when you are chewing, the saliva also builds up in your mouth and that saliva when you swallow is what make you feel full. Sounds disgusting but I have heard that it works.

    bags of little mini carrots make for a great snack. You can find a low calorie dip that you like to go along with the carrots as well. Celery and dip is great too - not to mention good for the digestive system.

    Add cucumber, jicama and zucchini sticks to the celery and carrot combo with a non fat or other dip.

    Pumpkin or Sunflower seeds take time to peel and are satisfying.

    If you like artichokes, steam one or microwave it with some lemon or lime juice in the water. Cool and take to work cold and you can pick at the leaves all day and then get to the main prize which is the choke/heart for a midafternoon snack.

    sunflower seeds...when I had a desk job, I would munch on sunflower seeds. That way I had something I could literally eat all day and the calories were very minimal!

    A small box of raisins is a good treat.
