Is it dishonorable to fire your maid of honor?

Since the engagement, we have started planning our wedding, and my other best friend who lives in the same town as me has been extremely helpful in the planning process. I have decided I would rather have her be my maid of honor for convenience reasons and because we have become closer than ever in the past couple of years. (Plus itís not fair for her to do all the work and not get any of the credit.)

What do you think, would you go with the new friend, or your historical best friend? Can you fire your maid of honor, after you've asked her?

The solution is to create a new position.

Maid of Honor & Maid of Dishonor. Everyone gets a fancy title and a place in line to stand.

Does the Maid of Honor plan a shower while the Maid of Dishonor plans the bachelorette?
