    St Patrick's Day

What does everyone do for St Patrick's Day?

I cook the traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner. We go to bed wearing green so we are not pinched upon awakening.

My DD3 sets lephrecaun traps all around the house (drives me batty). The little elf plays tricks on her by stealing her jewels from the traps and turning her milk green.
    Boo!

I'm going to a concert. I don't usually do anything so much special. I do try to cook corned beef and cabbage, though my hubby refuses the cabbage. The trick is, I'm not always home to cook.

well my town hits national news, everyone from heck to breakfast converges here to drink and get down to partying. This town does it big, and we have to hire so many more officers. Yep a drunking brawling mess.( no kidding,) this town filles up to capasity and there is drinking in the streets, bars open there doors and wer have bag pipers, dances, and parades, and fun runs, blarny chases. you name it!! I stay indoors and we do dinner and a movie night. ( to many of those drinking and driving and to many accidents )
and I look forward to my birthday 1 minute after midnight on st particks ( shameless plug LOL!)

I know I'll be wearing green. The only thing I'm doing after work is hopefully going to see Failure to Launch with my friend and have dinner with drinks as well. I told her that we have to drink some green-colored drinks to be in the Irish spirit. Haha!

    Re: St Patrick's Day

I should get some Guinness for tomorrow night. We will be having Corned Beef & Cabbage for dinner.

The big to do is Saturday - my parents have an annual St. Patty's Day party. Green Beer, jello shots and some corned beef & cabbage. The kids have a great time too.
Anything listed on the park maps as an attraction is fair game for inclusion in the Rally.
I cannot confirm nor deny the inclusion of any attraction in the Rally.

    EWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

I hate the smell of Corned beef and cabbage cooking!

However...I love the thinly slice corned beef they sell at Nob Hill this time of year...it so so good that it tastes almost like prime rib!

And no cabbage for me ....the last time I ate it , my hubby made me sleep on the couch!

That is sooo funny! I tried doing some of the same stuff I do on Vday for St Patricks Day one year and it just didn't go off as well. Green is kind of a strange coloer to decorate with...it makes your house/bedroom look like a pub! And there is something seriously wrong with green and white carnations...they're just not natural.

But I do like my big hat, shamrock glasses, and pin that says "If you're Irish , I' m buying." And I like my Snoopy and Woodstock who are dressed as Irish people.

When I taught first grade, I used to turn a lot of things in my classroom upside down and throw candy all over the place and tell my students some naughty leprechauns came in our classroom and did it!

    Awww! How cute!!

Have you seen the button Hallmark is seeling this year that says "Pinch Protection?"

I forgot all about the shamrock shales from McDonalds! About 12 years ago, my husbands's friend came over to our house with one and spilled the entire thing on the white carpet we had!!! It never was quite the same in that one spot after that! One more reason I LOVE having hardwood floors now!

    Re: St Patrick's Day

    I'm not Irish, so I don't celebrate.
    I do wear green, though.
My mom used to make corned beef.
I'll probably have a drink, though, maybe even turn it green.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...
