    Pancake Recipe?

Yeah, this SHOULD be easy, but a search returned a billion recipes.

I'm looking for a good pancake recipe - preferable without milk. Or eggs???

    Thank ya.

    NeverNever,

I searched through some of my cookbooks, too. No luck.

I think Krustez brand pancake mix is prepared using water.

I hope you find what you need.

I think the box mixes that you add water to have powdered milk in them. I ususlly use buttermilk, but I guess that doesn't help much....

    Re: Pancake Recipe?

Ok, CL, that applesauce one is different! If I had cottage cheese and a blender I'd try it! And the others all have eggs/milk... thanks though!

I just figured it'd be cheaper and healthier (since pancakes seem to be high points) to make my own from scratch. But if I have to buy milk and eggs, I might as well just forget about it.

There has to be something else healthy that I can use maple syrup on.

You could use non-fat milk and egg-beaters and that should really cut down on points LB.

    Re: Pancake Recipe?

Oh egg beaters, yeah. Maybe there's an egg but no milk recipe out there

The problem is that the milk will spoil, and at like 3 bucks, I don't even buy it anymore. They don't sell anything less than half gallons of non fat at Ralph's. Ditto with the eggs... just won't use them all.

ugh I really need to start COOKING.

If your not wanting it to spoil, you might try powdered milk.

I know it sounds yucky..but in recipes, you can't really tell a difference.

When Kat was little, she had a milk allergy. So she had to drink powdered milk. It was a pain to mix for her. But I liked it for cooking. When I was out of milk, but needed it for a recipe or sauce, I'd just whip up a batch of powdered. AND..it keeps forever. And is really good to mix with cocoa and powdered sugar for homemade hot chocolate!

And egg beaters last quite a while as well...but just buying a dozen egss is cheaper!

    Hard to resist, so touchable.
    Too good to deny it.
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent.

Ditto on the powdered milk suggestion! I can't stand drinking powdered milk, but it works fantastic in recipies.

    Re: Pancake Recipe?

Yes, I actually followed through on something!
Last week I made these... I used the recipe from my Betty Crocker cookbook and the egg beaters and powdered milk (thanks to your suggestions!). I also added some cinnamon and nutmeg. They turned out pretty well... I am proud of myself! And our little griddle thing was a snap to clean. Yay!!

Now to figure out what else to make to use up this syrup!

say, why did you just not buy the 99 cent pancakes at the store? Or am I being silly and you wanted to cook? And the syrup tastes soooooo good in oatmeal

Don't forget about french toast NNL!! You could make it with egg beaters and Sarah Lee healthy grains bread. I always add cinnamon and nutmeg(great minds )to mine AND a dash or two or vanilla. Then you can have some of your tasty maple syrup
