What? Your not brave enough to do a slumber party????

Girls that age LOVE slumber parties...and girls are self-entertaining at that age. We just had one in December - it was great.

I do not suggest doing this with 11 year old boys...it was not so great!!

I recently picked up a brochure at Claire's about bday parties...I can't remember what they did or offered..but if you have a Claire's - who doesn't - you might check it out.

Libby Lu would have been my first choice....
    Us girls, we're so magical.
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable.
    Hard to resist, so touchable.
    Too good to deny it.
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent.

I think they might be a little too old for the Pat E. Cake birthday at the park.... my daughter was at that age.

Check your local phone book for hair salons that cater to kids. A lot of them (in my area at least) will offer a Libby Lou-esque party.

Another suggestion would be bowling. They have bowling parties with cool music, fun lights, etc.

Ice skating is another good idea. Don't know what's in OC though.

    Um, maybe Boomers in Irvine?

Let me know if you want some more ideas... oh, and props for thinking of Libby Lu! Nice idea for a guy to think of, sorry that was booked!

Oh, and man do I miss Farrells! I loved the giant drum there. My mom never let me try to win the pig trough.

    Lucky Strike Lanes
Lucky Strike Lanes is an upscale bowling lounge and features a bowling alley with bar, lounge and restaurant featuring dishes by Grammy-caterer Along Came Mary. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner and serves food until 1am daily. The bowling alley with restaurant, bar and lounge also features comfy seating and attractive artwork.

yup! there's a Farrell's in Valencia/ Santa Clarita. The boyfriend and I went there semi-recently. maybe we just hit an off day or something, but neither of us were that impressed...

anyway...i second the notion of bowling or ice skating. i know there's an ice skating rink in garden grove, but i've never been there so i can't give any kind of rating...

    have fun planning this thing!!

If your not up to a slumber party...how about a Pizza party, but after the girls eat....get out of their way, you don't even want to know what is being said! Add a bunch of makeup and hair junk and you have a cheap fun party for the girls!
Mom, remember, it's not what a person is like on the outside that counts,
it's what they are like in their HEART!

    Re: Girl Party Help!

American Girl is opening up this weekend. It's at 189 The Grove Dr. Los Angeles, Ca. or try Build A Bear my daughters love to go and make their own bears. American Girl can be expensive. Here in Chicago it's about $18.00 for lunch or tea in the Cafe there. See if your local movie theater does birthday parties. Our here has a party room and you get the movies of your choice popcorn, soda and you can have your own cake and get pizza delivered there too. Just some ides hopes this helps.

I'm not familiar with the OC area so I don't know if they have anything like Farrell's. Some of the parties we have done for our kids over the years are: Bowling, Roller Skating, Ice Skating, Miniature Golfing, Special Effects Arcade, Laser Tag, Climbing Wall, Luau in our backyard, Slumber party, Johnny Rockets and 50's party.

    Good luck!

    Re: Girl Party Help!

There are tons of ideas on the FamilyFun website if you are having it at home, if not... can't help ya much there(not being from around there). My kids always love a good skating, bowling, swimming,or movie party. My sons last birthday we had a party at the pizza place, and then took a few of the kids with us to see Chicken Little, they loved it.
