    Yes, ANOTHER cooking question!

    Ok, I have a bag of frozen chicken breasts. The bag says they can be cooked frozen Yay. BUT it only says how to cook them on the grill or in the oven - grill isn't an option and it's freakin' hot in here so I'd rather not use the oven.

    Is there some way I can cook them on the stovetop or is that not an option unless I thaw them out?

    you can cut them in strips, fry them up and put them into a tortilla with onions tomoato and green peppers ( all fried to)
    you can cook them on the stove top, add soup and simmer them and then put them over rice.
    heck I don';t know I am a sucky cook ( I need a man to teach me how to cook!! where is my will!! I can be your grace!!

    If you don't already have one, invest in a George Foreman Grill. It's the only way to go in the summer!

    Is it easy to cut up frozen chicken? I'm having visions of raw chicken flying everywher! (the cat would probably like it!).

    I'd love a george Foreman but we have NO counterspace for any more appliances!

    It might be easier to just let it defrost for a while in the fridge or a bowl of cold water. Even if it's half frozen by then, it's easy to slice or cut up.

    Put them in water and boil them, then cut them up into strips and do the following:

    boil one package of top ramen noodles (without the seasoning packet)

    While the noodles boil, in a frying pan place 2 tbsp of oil and some minced garlic....saute for a minute. Add frozen stirfy veggies, bamboo shoots, and water chestnuts. Add 1/4 cup hoisin sauce (can be found in the Asian food aisle) stirfry for a few minutes and add the chuicken. Cook until veggies are cooked. Add top ramen noodles and soy sauce (for taste)

    Well, I gave up and just made some pasta and sauce
    But I am going to TRY to make some bakes pasta thing weith the leftovers and the chicken, tomorrow night. Brave the samonella

    Is there anything else I can make with just the sauce? The pasta I can deal with, but I have open sauce issues

    I buy the frozen bags of chicken often and when I need them thawed for cooking I use the microwave. You have to use a low setting though or they will cook right there in the microwave.

    Question? Are they boneless? Best for with bone are BBQ..good for boneless..Crockpot if you got one, put in crock pot with a few cans of cream of chicken soup ans let it sit all day long on medium heat! But they work better if they are thawed out! Cooking any meat frozen will take twice as long to cook! when cooked all day in crockpot you can serve over rice with veggie of your choice!
    Also go to www.foodnetwork.com and they have a great search engine for great recipies!

    If you hit Trader Joe's pick up some simmer sauces. The pepita is my favorite, the mojito is good too(mamabot loves that one). You can had boneless skinless chicken in those sauces and they're simple and delish!

    Someday I will have a crockpot. No room for that either. (I literally have a space that is 6 to 7 inches deep and about 3 feet long to prepare stuff and when the dishes are drying... they take up the oter about 2 by 3 feet of the other counter space!!). I'll put those sauces on my list the nect time i'm in TJ's, dmom

    I ended up making my version of a pasta bake - I cooked the garlic and chicken in a frying pan then layered the leftover sauce, noodles, the chicken stuff, some FF Feta and some shredded cheese - twice - then baked it all for awhile. SO GOOD! Yay!!

    Yes! I love my Foreman grill! It cooks chicken perfectly too. Always nice and juicy. I usually thaw my chicken out then cook it on the foreman grill (with some chicken seasoning rubbed on for a little extra kick) and then cut it up and put it on some mixed greens for a good chicken salad. Or I'll mix it in with some rotini pasta and sauce.

    Do you have a microwave to thaw them out first before trying to cook them or cut them? And yes, I would recommend using a bbq grill or something outside instead of the oven. Look my way if you ever need cooking tips, Lori.

    Ah, a cooking god, eh?

    I do have a micro, but i'm just trying to not touch the raw meat. Blech. Thawing them during the day in the fridge worked well... they were frozen enough that they weren't TOO gross but easy enough to cut.

    Yeah, I need to get on the landlord to fix the community BBQ grill. Its' been nice enough to use it lately!
