    Bare Minerals rip off?

While Bear and I were out today, I saw that L'Oreal has released what looks like a version of Bare Minerals. It has a brush attached to the top lid and goes be the moniker of Bare Naturale Powdered Mineral Foundation. Anyone heard or know anything about it? At 15 bucks, it's something I could actually afford!

I saw this at Walgreens last week. Neutrogena or Almay just came out with their versions of "mineral" makeup too. Guess they found out how much people like bare Minerals and are trying to get in on the action.

I'll still with the real deal for now.

My co-worker uses a fake bare minerasl make up. IMO it does not look natural....The Bare minerals foundation is only $23.00 and it lasts a long time..

    YAY I AM RICH!

I'm not surprised there are "knockoffs" out there.
the BM are worth the price, for how good they look and how long they last!

I guess I'll have to ditch Bear long enough to go to Sephoria the next time we're at DTD and check out the real deal. Do you have to purchase the brush separately?

There is a little spa type of place on Rosedale, near Albertson's/Rite Aid and such that sells Bare Escentuals. I haven't been there but I've seen the sign. Also, if you go to the Fresno area for any reason the Sephora at Fashion Fair mall is veryyyyy nice!!

Are Bare Minerals and Bare Escentuals the same thing? (Sorry to make you ladies go over this again, you'd think I would have learned all of this by now)

Yes, Bare Escentuals is the brand name and the make up line is Bare Minerals.

The start up kit really is a great deal. You get two foundations, warmth and mineral veil(which 'sets' the makeup) and three brushes.

QVC has great deals on kits quite often ( I just bought two night before last)

    Re: Bare Minerals rip off?

I have used bare minerals foundation since about 1997-98 - back when they had liquid foundation as well as bare minerals!!! (I still have some of their pressed powder eyeshadow compacts - which kick@$$ and I SOOOO wish they still made). NOTHING can compare.

That little jar lasts me almost 3 months, and the mineral veil about 3-3.5 months (i wish they still made the jumbo size- it lasted almost a year!)

You can also order thru: http://www.bareminerals.com/ and it has an easy pay option. Even when I was between jobs years ago, I scraped enough together to get it, because it makes my skin look so good, and not in a made-up way. And absolutely try the Clear Radiance - just lightly dust over your cheeks, forehead and under your eyes. For summer I really like to smooth it lightly over my chest and neck too!

There are some BE Boutiques in SoCal-

    Topanga Plaza
    6600 Topanga Canyon Blvd.
    Canoga Park, CA 91303
    818.346.1101

    Westside Pavilion
    10800 West Pico Blvd.
    Los Angeles, CA 90064
    310.441.2912
Targeted to reopen in early July.

I find the Boutiques MUCH better than Sephora at showing you how to use the product, and not just in a "HERE BY IT NOW" kinda way. That said, I live in San Francisco and have one less than a block from my office and 2 more within 20 minutes of my home.

I got clear radiance in my last kit and I absolutely love it. It's my favorite product so far. Followed by warm radiance and well rested

I agree! I was a BE "virgin" until my last birthday, when my mom took me to the BE store in Stonestown...I was amazed and sold on it instantly, and they were so helpful in showing me how to apply the different products. The a couple of months later I went to Sephora and it was not the same. I can see why you would want to go to the BE store, at least the first time.

Where are you finding it for $23? It's $25 at Sephora, Ulta and the BE boutiques.

And I found out an upscale salon/spa about 10 minutes from me sells Bare Minerals! Yay! My bosses got me a a coupon package to this place so I'll be checking it out when I redeem my first coupon. This could mean no more having to drive across the bay to restock!

Has anyone tried the tinted mineral veil yet? I'm thinking of getting that one before I get too much darker this Summer.

What does Clear Radiance and Warm Radiance do for you?

Just remember without a well written Disney Villain, there would be no point in the Heroes and the Princesses. Have you hugged a Disney Villain today?
