Santa Cruz Barbie, Scotts Valley Barbie and so on......

I got this idea for a thread this morning when I heard a funny show on the radio station. People were calling in to describe what a Barbie Doll representing their town would be like.

Here's my description of Santa Cruz Barbie.........Has blonde dread locks and is wearing a bikini top , board shorts and flip flops, has a surf board in one hand and a picketing sign in the other.

And here's my description of Scotts Valley Barbie......Has her hair in a pony tail and is wearing a t=shirt and jeans. Drives a mini van full of kids who aren't all necessarily hers. Carries cookies for the bake sale in one hand and permissionn slip forms for school field trips in the other.

    Your turn!!!

    1) Seattle Barbie would be wearing Birkenstocks, eating granola, saving a tree and also picketing something! ha!

    2) Seattle Barbie would be going to work, in cut offs and a t-shirt, at Microsoft and making an obscene amount of money. She'd leave her kids with a nanny while she works and she'd retire at 40 a very, very wealthy woman!!!

I'm going to do Utah Barbie (since that's where I grew up). She will be pregnant and driving a mini-van. She will have at least 4 kids in the mini-van with her. Of course, they'll be on their way to church

Her hair will have really high poofy bangs (because Utah is still stuck in the 80's). And bleach blonde of course. And all she'll wear is the Gap or American Eagle.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Simi Valley Barbie- Shed be wearing jeans and some tight fitting top, and would be hopping into her lifted toyota tacoma with volcom stickers on the back. (Hype might disagree but this is the stereotype I hear from a lot of people)

North Jersey Barbie would be dropping her kids off at school in their SUV (equipped with speaker phone cell phone) and then be heading to the nearest shopping mall or Panera Bread to meet up with her other stay at home moms. Her hair is shoulder length layered in long layers and highlighted. She'll be wearing solid black boot leg pants with a solid color blouse dressed up with some costume jewelry. Black leather low cut boots and a black 3/4 length belted jacket.

South Jersey Barbie comes with a minivan instead of the SUV and will be wearing jeans, a t-shirt, sneakers and have her hair in a pony tail. After dropping off the kids she will meet up at the PTA moms home to discuss what treats will be served at the next school function.

    *editted to add*

All NJ Barbies come with a bumper sticker with the # of their exit off the NJ Turnpike and the Garden State Parkway

Ok so I'm gonna do San Jose Barbie,

She wears some sort of comfortable Jeans with a Sharks T-shirt. An I pod in one pocket and a top of the line cell in the other. She would drive off in her Hybrid Toyota Prius, headed of to her techie job, but not before she stoped off at Starbucks.

    Heee, heee....

Today while I was wearing my tee shirt and jeans I asked the girls that I was driving around in my minivan (only one of the girls was mine) what a Scotts Valley Barbie would look like...from an eleven y/o perspective.

They agreed with PB ~ We would add: The jeans would be designer, the tee shirt would be trendy, the vehicle would be an SUV, her hair would be a stylized pony tail and she would have her always-present cell phone and Starbucks in hand, after she dropped off the cookies and permission slip.

Can we say SV barbies Rock!!!

Here is a true story: One of my friends mentioned that when they first bought their house here she was amazed at all the blonde, SUV driving, coffee drinking, cell phone carrying, PTA moms she saw. She never figured she would be one of them. I started laughing along with her as we walked to her SUV after we had a PTA meeting at Starbucks, her cell phone rang and the sun was dancing off her blonde highlights...She became one of them!!!

    Fun thread PB!
    Boo!

North Carolina Barbie would be wearing a cowgirl hat in a Mater-type pick up truck with about 10 teeth missing and when you squeeze her she said "Howdy Y'all" and she'd wear a t-shirt that says "G.R.I.T.S. (Girl Raised In The South)"

    OMG These are all great!!!!!!

Tustin Ranch Barbie sounds just like Palos Verdes Barbie except that PV Barbie comes with a Lexus SUV, a real estate license, and the Gucci bag is a knockoff.

Hey D'Kat, how can you tell the toothbrush was invented in South Carolina?

'Cause if they invented it anywhere else they'd have called it a TEETHbrush!
