    Cell phone misery-

Ok- as some of you know my phone charger died during my trip to Cali- I made a one bar charge last 4 days by keeping it turned off all the time except to check messages.

I bought a new charger- still no go, so I figured it was the battery. However, when I got home my car charger worked just fine- yippee! Just needed a new desk charger- right?

    I wish.

Wednesday I flew home, got picked up at the airport, got rear ended on the highway (yes, I got into an accident on my way home, no damage- thankfully!) and that night I took Rose to see Lion King at the Denver Center.....on the way home I used my phone, all was well. By the time we got home it was about midnight- I was exhausted.

Next day I went to work- could not find my phone. Anywhere. So I called home- they tore the place apart- no phone.

Guess what day that was? Yea, the big snow storm. So sadly I concluded I had dropped it on my way into the house the night before and it was now lost under a lot of snow.

    Turns out I was right.

The snow has been melting and every now and then we would look though the drifts, melt some with hot water, shovel it around.....no go- today the snow melted in the right place and revealed the corpse of my LG.

It charges and I should be able to get the numbers off of it- but the phone is toast. Going to call Verizon and see if they have any great deals to get a new phone-

Guess that fixes the battery charger problem huh?

I have heard with Verizon its chaper to add a second line and get a new phone then to replace the phone you have with your current plan. Just a suggestion.

I'm not sure how it works, but with the family plan, you pay for sharing the minutes between two phones, and there is usually a deal on the phone when you switch to a family plan.

A friend of mine who works for Verizon told me that. I'm not sure how it works, but its always an option you can ask about. He said you end up spending about $50 versus $300 for the new phone.

plus the $240 over 2 years (a general contract time) that you pay to have a second phone right?

Like I said, I am not sure how it works, a Verizon employee told me about this....

Does Verizon have the phone upgrade plan like Sprint does? That would seem to be a cheap way too.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

It sounds to me like the Verizon employee just wanted more money. I work for Cingular and I can't possibly figure out how you can do that will benefit the customer. It also causes churn that Verizon prides itself on having a low churn rate.
