I remember those! I had a brown leather jacket with fringe and I remember one of my boyfriends had the black leather fringed one like Jon Bon Jovi had (where the fringe went into a "V" in the back). He used to let me wear it. <swoon> I miss my rocker boyfriends. My hubby's a metal bass player but cut his hair short in 2005 (gettin' with the times rather slowly). I still miss his long hair. I the 80's!

I say go for the early 80s punk look. That never goes out of fashion!

Or, instead, go watch the Like a Virgin or Girls Just Wanna Have Fun music videos for some ideas...

    Oh! Better yet!

    VALLEY GIRL!

I should've thought of that first. This morning, on my way to work, 80s on 8 was playing Frank Zappa's "Valley Girl." Like, gag me with a spoon!

Ah....the 1980's. What a very interesting time. Good times indeed. Good clothes? Thought so then. Good hair? Thought so then....

It just cracks me up that what is old is what is new again.

I read that Cindy Wilson of The B-52's stated something to the affect of that she and other band members used to go to thrift shops for clothese from the 50's and early 60's for their 'wild' clothing for their late 70's and 80's band days........and how she was shocked to find that now people were now going to thrift stores to find clothes from the 1980's.

    Wild!

i was a total rocker chick in the 80's..leggings, stirrup pants, or my fave..SPANDEX!!! big long wrap around belts with the metal studs, big hair..see if you can find the album cover for lita ford, out for blood to get an idea..thats the way i wore my hair, also, fingerless gloves, either lace or leather, with lots of bracelets, (silver) (think Lita again) and either heeled ankle boots, or the long thigh highs..or, vans slip ons..

and always some kind of animal print..either shirt or pants, cat eye eyeliner, dark colors in eyeshadow..and of course Wayfarer sunglasses!

and if you go short skirt, seamed or fishnet stockings with garter belt! and the most important color is black!
