6 lbs 5 oz, 19 inches long born on May 23rd 2007 at 2:45 pm via c-section.
Last weekend, I took my wife to the hospital because she wasn't feeling him. Which wasn't a big deal because he always had his long quiet moments. They checked him out, found his heartbeat and we went home an hour later. They told her to get scheduled for another ultrasound before her appointment the following Friday which is today. She could only get one scheduled for 3:15 on Tuesday.
So I took the day off and took her to the appointment. They ran the ultrasound and showed that her emniotic fluids were low so they said to go to the hospital which was just across the street. They checked her in and were going to try to induce her.
First they tried to induce her with gel a couple of times but that didn't work. The next day on Wednesday, they tried with a pentosin IV, but that didn't work either, she just wasn't dialating to the point where she needed to. So the docs opted for c-section wednesday afternoon. Within an hour he was born.
The procedure went smoothly, I was able to be with her and see the baby come out. It was a surreal moment seeing them pull him out, it was almost like it wasn't real. Still hasn't hit me completely yet. Both mom and baby are fine. His apgar score was a 10 out of 10. The pediatrician says he is a perfectly healthy baby boy. And as you can see with the pictures, he is completely adorable.
Sorry that I had to put a link to the pictures. My profile doesn't allow me to post attachments. When I can and she comes home, I can send them to Becka and she will post them to her site likely with more pics.
Update:
I will be going back to the hospital in a short while. They should be discharged around Saturday, or Sunday at the latest.
