Urban Decay 24/7 liners are hands down the best pencil liners that I have ever used. They have massive staying power!! http://www.sephora.com/browse/produc...egoryId=C10461
I have 1999, Deviant, Electric, Lust, Honey and Zero. The Deviant looks obnoxious but it looks great with brown eyes.
I also use BE liner/shadows, I wet the brush and apply them that way. They work pretty good also, but don't have the staying power that the Urban Decay ones do.
I use Wet and Wild. It's a dollar and it works just as well as an expensive brand.
I do like liquid too , but I haven't used it in years!
My daughter Tiffany started using eyeliner this summer and it makes her look older. I don't mind that since she has kind of a baby face for 12 years old , but I insisted that she use it underneath the rim of her eye rather than directly on the rim.
I always use the liner all the way across the bottom, but just at the corners and edges of the top.
But are they easy to put on? Does it glide on smoothly?
As long as you keep the tip sharpened it goes on smoother than any pencil I've ever used. Of course, I now have to "tighten" the skin a little when I do my upper lids, but it glides great. I've never used a line that stays on so well.
I wear Morbid Makeup for the Living pencil in black glitter, rather thickly on the top and only halfway and thinly on my lower lid, just enough to emphasize my lower lashes.
Don't be intimidated my the name--it's the Hot Topic makeup brand, and the pencil is great. It has a long staying power and can blend really easily, but it has a tendancy to bleed a little and give '**** eyes if it's hot or if you're really sweaty. I use the glitter because the glitter pieces are few and far between and never show. This brand also makes a liquid that is really good color quality in a few colors, but it smells like vineagar and will flake off after a few hours. They also make a clear glitter liquid liner to wear over your regular liner, in a variety of colors, which I also have but only use on special occasions.
I use black Sephora brand liquid eyeliner on my upper lids, and usually either Urban Decay or Stila pencil liner on the bottoms. I use the peach Stila pencil liner to do the rims of my eyes on the bottoms to make me look a little more awake, and sometimes i like to use Urban Decay gold pencil to line my lower lashes for dramatic effect.
For the pencil, I've used an array of brands like Wet & Wild to Ulta to Lanacome. I like the Ulta one the best so far. I even use their brow pencils. The Wet & Wild is good too... especially if you're on a budget. Avon has some decent pencils too.
For my birthday I bought myself a makeup kit from Smashbox and it came with eyeliner you apply with a flat brush. I'd never done that before but it ended up not being as difficult as I thought. So when I have the extra time, I do it that way.
And I just do the bottom. I need to experiment with the brush on the top sometime though. One day I'll get that smoky-eyed look down pat!
Oh yeah, and I pretty much use just black, but I've been known to use dark brown or charcoal grey on occasion.
