    Oh Happy Day...Care is cheaper!

Nathan and I have been waiting for this day to come. We received the new rates for daycare this morning, which, even with the increase in rates, means that we are saving $70 a week. I almost cried!

With the kids being so close in age, we have been paying almost the same for both kids, which adds up. When I started back to work, daycare was more than half my net pay each month. Which was more than our mortgage! Now, it is less than both.

    This is my happy day.

    Woo hoo!!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Here is the sad part: The Assistant Director said "Now you have more money to spend at Disneyland".

Hey that's awesome news, Mamabot. When I was working before, my daycare was more than half of my take-home pay as well. It was ridiculous! Thankfully, now that Paige is getting older, she can stay by herself for an hour or so after school until someone gets home, so hopefully my costs will be reduced dramatically now that I'm returning to the workforce.

Day care is SO expensive! I almost started working part time awhile back and it was going to be more than half my pay so we said screw it and I stay home. It is just too darned expensive!

Every summer I feel Day Care pain. During the school year The Boy goes to DC provided by the school district, located at the school. I pay $220/mnth for before and after school. During the summer, he goes to a different DC that is closer to a Day Camp, with lots of activities for $147/wk.

Yay!! We were just talking about this at breakfast the other day!! Whoo hoo, congrats and enjoy... and hey, spend it at Disneyland, I find that happy, you wanna know why?

Did I mention that I can't wait for school to start? Our daycare is killing us!

    Coming out of hiding..... hehehe

My job offered me a new job (a supposed promotion)- but it ment I had to get daycare for my two kiddos. I went looking and it was going to cost around $800 to $900 for both kids full time. Then, to make the whole choice a lot easier, they slashed my pay for the new job to min wage (I was making a lot more then min wage), so I told them I was leaving. Minimum Wage would barely cover the cost of the daycare. So count my lucky stars- No job means I can take the kids to Disneyland more during the week!
