    Christmas Cards

What does everyone usually include in thier Christmas cards??? A Photo? A note about what the family has been up to? I'm just not sure what to put in mine this year!

    Re: Christmas Cards

For the last 25 years I've included my "Annual Christmas Newsletter" recapping the events of the year for our family.

"Happy Holidays! Kim" and with my cousins's I am putting a family recipe. I only send Christmas cards to people I talk to on a regular basis.

    Re: Christmas Cards

My family doesn't usually send anything in the card, unless something big happens, then we'll include a newsletter of some sort to do a quick re-cap like we did this year.
Press today is so concerned with cool vs. not cool that they're starting to forget good vs. bad. I'm not sure I'll ever be "cool", but I will always tirelessly strive to be "great". - Josh Groban

Hey! I didn't get a newsletter in my envelope!

But I did get a star!

I usually send a card, a handwritten message , and a paper with some of my favorite photos from the year on it!

    Re: Christmas Cards

For family, I send a family picture. I got tired of doing the newsletter thing - it felt like I was bragging and trying to make my family sound better than theirs.

Usually a handwritten message, something about that particular person or a memory we share. Sometimes I'll include pictures of the kids, if it's for family members or close friends.

    Re: Christmas Cards

I've been putting my cards off as well. I moved this time last year and I haven't talked with everyone I want to send a Christmas card to. I've only done a few and I've basically said how I'm doing, I miss everyone, Merry Christmas etc. But I like dmom's idea of putting in a memory we share. I think I might do that.

    Re: Christmas Cards

I made all my cards this year and that was effort enough! I usually put a short note and our signatures. To faraway family, I will add a photo.

I agree it is way too much effort to send to EVERYONE you know! Just close friends and family!

At this point in life we've gotten so old and into such a routine and nothing really ever happens anymore that my newsletters pretty much consist of, "The kids are still doing ok and are moving again, we're still working at the same jobs and doing the same thing and yes, we still have two dogs..... yeah... thats about it...:

I have found however that my letters over the years have become a sort of written history of our life the last 25 years. If I want to remember when a certain thing happened I can pull out the old ones and read through them and see. (Except for some reason I'm missing 2003.... maybe a copy is on my old computer, but I thought I transfered all my files over.)

    Re: Christmas Cards

I usually write a personal note and depending on the person I include recent pictures of us and the kids. It really depends on the person.
