Wouldn't frosted flakes make the chicken sweet?

I have used corn flakes, never frosted flakes, although that sounds interesting for maybe pork?

Don't forget breasts cook faster than legs and thighs....just a thought.

Frosted Flakes with pork seems like it could be a logical balance...

if a chicken is like a turkey then dark meat cooks slower then white meat. I've never cooked chicken legs and thighs. I don't care for them.

    let us consider...

dark meat is fattier then white meat. When you cook soemthing with fat it takes longer for the fat to ome to temp then it does for protien. I beieve this is correct.

that would be why dark takes longer, even if there is more bulk in the breast.

Re: Anyone Have A Great Recipe For Fried Chicken?

This was an award winning recipe at Taste of Home Magazine (.com) - my go-to site for recipes:

    Sunday Fried Chicken

    SERVINGS: 4-6
    CATEGORY: Main Dish
    METHOD: Baked
TIME: Prep: 20 min. Bake: 45 min.

    Ingredients:

    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 1/2 cup cornmeal
    • 2 tablespoons salt
    • 2 tablespoons ground mustard
    • 2 tablespoons paprika
    • 2 tablespoons garlic salt
    • 1 tablespoon celery salt
    • 1 tablespoon pepper
    • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
    • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme
    • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
    • 1 broiler/fryer chicken (2-1/2 to 3-1/2 pounds), cut up
    • Oil for deep-fat frying
    Directions:

Combine all ingredients except chicken and oil. Place about 1 cup flour mixture in a paper or plastic bag. Shake a few chicken pieces in the bag at a time, coating well. On medium-high, heat 1/2 in. of oil in a large skillet. Brown chicken on all sides; remove to a large shallow baking pan. Bake, uncovered, at 350 for 45-60 minutes or until done. Recipe makes enough coating for three chickens. Store unused mixture in an airtight container. Yield: 4-6 servings.

The best breading that I have found for Fried Chicken is Dixie Fry.

Pat dry - then put in flour, dip in egg then coat with Dixie Fry.

Mmmm, fried chicken. Delicious even cold.

Fried Chicken...I should make some soon.

The best fried chicken in my opinion is made with Nature's Seasoning. It's a blend you can get right next to the Lawry's, etc.

    Makes perfect fried chicken.

I use that in my flour.

Dip chicken first in flour, then in egg wash (egg with a splash of milk) and then again in the flour. Sometimes I'll double crust.

Then you must fry in Crisco shortening for the best chicken. Makes a really crunchy crust and holds temp. And keep the temp on a Med/Low and only turn once.
    Us girls, we're so magical.
Soft skin, red lips, so kissable.
    Hard to resist, so touchable.
    Too good to deny it.
Ain't no big deal, it's innocent.

she has an obsession with butter. She made mashed potatoes once and after they were done she just poured melted butter over the bowl, not mixed in...just greasy butter laying on the top....

I am guessing the Fried Butter was fried butter balls ...yikes these things are a heart attack waiting to happen, there is a bit of cream cheese, but it really is mostly butter and break crumbs fried in oil!

    2 sticks butter
    2 ounces cream cheese
    Salt and pepper
    1 cup all-purpose flour
    1 egg, beaten
    1 cup seasoned bread crumbs
    Peanut oil, for frying

Cream the butter, cream cheese, salt and pepper together with an electric mixer until smooth. Using a very small ice cream scoop, or melon baller, form 1-inch balls of butter mixture and arrange them on a parchment or waxed paper lined sheet pan. Freeze until solid. Coat the frozen balls in flour, egg, and then bread crumbs and freeze again until solid.

When ready to fry, preheat oil in a deep-fryer to 350 degrees F. Fry balls for 10 to 15 seconds until just light golden. Drain on paper towels before serving.

    A little piece of heaven
