News Hong Kong Disneyland receives national honor

Hong Kong Disneyland has been named "The Most Influential Theme Park in China" by an association of Chinese media, branding, research and technology groups.

The award was given in conjunction with the fifth annual Most Influential Brands in China Summit, held mid-January in Beijing. Hong Kong Disneyland was selected for the honor by professional judges and the public via Internet voting, who cited its out-standing service, quality and reputation. The resort has received around 40 other awards and welcomed more than 15 million guests since opening in September 2005.

"We are honored to be voted as the 'Most Influential Theme Park in China' by Internet users and experts, and we will continue to bring outstanding services to our guests and create magical experiences," said Andrew Kam, managing director, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Its nice to see Hong Kong Disneyland being credited for some of the things it actually does right for a change. Its just a shame most people over look this...

congrats!!! The only problem I have with HK is that they need more attractions and could use less shows!

Or keep the shows and build more attractions! Especailly in Fantasyland with the dark rides.

But HKDL deserves this award its a great park!

Congratulations and yes they better start making some of those announcements. The park as is built is getting close to reaching its annual park capacity. If attendance continues to grow it will start feeling like a busy little park.

I guess the soon to be built Downtown disney will also help with that.

Depends... I do not believe a Downtown Disney district will do well for the time being. They need to add to the park, and possibly... 7 yrs down the road.. add a small DTD, but for now.. I doubt it would work and be profitable.

true but a DTD is in serious consideration to be built soon after these additions and/or during these additions. The idea being that guests at the hotels as well as guests leaving the park will have something to entice them to stay longer. The Downtown Disney area is being considered to be built along the long corridor.

So basically in the future people would disembark the train and walk down the themed path thru a downtown disney with Disneyland entrance on one side and the second gate directly across from it.

Thinks Disneyland resort. two gates facing eachother with a downtown disney anchoring them both. all hotels built along the waters edge
