that might be true for the American parks but i think it is the perfect attraction for Hong Kong.

The track was also built that way because the Hong kong version of IASW was designed similiar to the original version of IASW which had the track exposed.

But the ride is always empty...

A BTM is never empty.

Thatīs for sure!

I still donīt understand why the small world wasnīt a park launch ride. Adding it later on made no difference at all when it comes to sales and from what I hear it has not helped the park at all.

That S.S. Disney would have had more thingīs to do than HKDL by launch.

The guy with the keys to the pandaīs cage is laughing at Disneyland all the way to the bank.

This new take on the haunted mansion sounds good and all a staple ride with a different twist. But they will build this with the 3 themed lands posters on this thread are always looking for news out of hong kong hoping the deal is going to get done. And when it gets the green light the fact is it will be forever ..yes years till the expansion will see its opening day.So i ask you why do we care the best we will get is a little concept art along the way i will check in a year or so good luck.

I think that a voodoo themed Haunted Mansion would be awesome. Especially because most, if not all, the scenes would need to be re-worked to fit the theme. It would be awesome to see the differences and similarities that would make the attraction work.

This is from the Theme park insider site,..Hong Kong disneys is getting site -specific attractions based on existing ones here in the states for example instead of haunted mansion, they,ll be getting the mystical manor, where a curse is released inside the house and all manner of super natural things occur.

HKDL bears no shame or failure because it has only just started 3 years ago and it will learn and grow and prosper. If you go to both Ocean Park and HKDL on a Saturday, you will see the SAME amount of crowds in both. AND HKDL has real sceneric beauty. It's scenery isn't made out of cement and plastic but it's backdrop is real which makes it unique from the other Disney parks. and don't you think it's a bit strange to compare a 3 year old baby to a 25 year old adult/teen?
This entire thread is al about the wait for something to do in HKDL. Itīs like a thirsting camel walking through a desert.

The last time I was there was six months ago. My old father could tell something or as he said... ALOT was missing from the park. So does most of the reviews say on the net about the park. Most park goers do not care about the magic... the what rides and more rides. The number of visitors is far away from those 10-15 millions they where mentioning before the park had opened.
Perhaps they have added alot in these last six months?
...and I can tell you that everbody I saw at Six Flags last time was smiling and looking happy.

I'm sorry to say that you are wrong. The officials predicted that the park attendance would be 5 million and the park had reached it.

If you don't know, don't pretend.

Well, I can also tell ya that everyone I see at HKDL is happy and joyful EVERYTIME.

For the Haunted Mansion rumors in HK, I've heard that the whole plan needs to be approved by the Legislative Council. But unfortunately, there's NO meeting during the summer holidays. Therefore, the meeting about HKDL will be delayed after early September.

Stop pretending it is all great is what I would say. Itīs not great... it is very small at most.

Hong Kong Disneyland was built to be the main actor in a plan to attract up to 10 - 15 million tourists to the area each year after a few years of expansions.
The first years the park had not much expectations on it. 5.6 millions was a very low number that both Disney and hkgovt had sett as a reasonable goal for the park to achive without any major expansions or additions in form of new rides. It all failed. After a year of major failure they failed even more. Still today they are failing. Some even say they tamper with numbers to make it look better. It does not matter how many you see smiling in the park. It is a bigger failure than anyone could ever expect.

If you know people that know more... they can tell you that it is a situation of crisis and that it has not turned out as anyone would have hoped.

I am not one of those that say HKDL is not a real Disneyland. Many do say that. Even some of those that are disneyfreaks say that. Itīs like when a fanboy is saing that a certain pop group still rules when infact they havenīt had a hit in years. Iīm not blind to disneyfailures like that. I like HKDL as a place to visit for a couple of hours. I donīt hate it. I hate what they have made into and the fact that an idiot can see what is wrong with it. HKDL should KILL Ocean Park. But nooo... not even a scratch. Infact Ocean Park attracts more and more visitors. I would also like to say that a Rolls Royce should never be compared to a Fiat. One of the biggest companies in the entertaimnent world is being threatened by a panda in a cage!

Any park will have a hard time at first. But like this? Soon five years will have gone by and with all the knowledge from the other resorts and decades in the business they still did not have what it takes to come close to what a Disneyland should be. It doesnīt even have a haunted house! What good themepark in the world does not have a haunted house?!
What in the world of crappy goals is 5 or 6 lousy millions when there is over a BILLION persons living in China and entire asia is just a few hours away?

If that is not failure then what is?

The score is 3-0 to the panda in the cage.
...and that park has a nice setting to.

^^ Quick question, if you don't like Hong Kong Disneyland... Why do you continue to visit?

I'm sure Disney has learned its lesson from the first time, and they probably know what there doing this time around.

TDLFAN is an unknown quantity at this point
Re: The Haunted Mansion HKDL

Tyler.. for what I get from Timmy... he does love Disney parks and his criticism only comes from the fact that he would rather see the park become a better place. Sometimes a little "tough love" is needed to correct a problem child..

Very true TDLFAN. I guess I am just the same. Sometimes some of the things in the theme parks make me upset to.

If you think Disney learnt, I would like to ask if you have seen the plan for Toy Story Land?
I love all Disneylands. Itīs just that 2 hours away from HKDL is another Disneyland with a whole lot more to love for about the same price.
The day when I donīt like HKDL is the day it isnīt a Disneyland anymore.
The fact that the park has failed does not mean I donīt like it. Just as much as it is a great place there is something that is VERY wrong with it.
Do I have to point out the fact that people expect a disneyland to be overflowing with rides and fun to cover a day or two?
I am not one of those WDW goers that just blindly say that "the latest Stitch show is great" or "I just love Dinoland USA".
I donīt spew hate all over the place. But I do hate it that sometimes disneyfans love everything that is wrong with the parks today.

It is all DisneySEAīs fault. After I visited that place I was convinced that there is a way to build something more than just amazing.
