Your comment about the trackless ride system in "Mystic Manor" made sense, and made me wonder if they will do something like that. Especially for the ballroom sequence. In all other mansions, the ghostly ball takes place as you watch it to one side. Well, what if in "Mystic Manor", you actually take part in the ball, and your vehicle "dances" amongst the ghosts? That would be pretty cool if you ask me, and set it above the other incarnations. You could also weave in and out of the graveyard scene and it would open it up to more than just a linear move along a track, without losing the intimacy. Another aspect, like Hunny Hunt, is that each car might see something different as it veers off in another direction. So, there is ride repeatability to try to see everything.

Sorry no danceing vehicles in the ballroom keep in mind peppers ghost effect.Trust me this ride system is not magic.

That whole back area should be all "mystic/grizzly" and put the Toy Story somewhere else so it attaches to Fantasyland like Toontown. Maybe behind the train station/small world. I don't have an issue with the Toy Story land per se', it could be HKDL's toontown, it's fine. But it should attach more to Fantasyland than Adventureland.

I'm guessing (or at least hoping) that all the empty land adjacent to/behind Fantasyland will be used for future expansion of Fantasyland itself -- with a few more dark rides (Peter Pan? The Little Mermaid?), maybe an E-ticket, etc.

<rant>I'm sorry, but Toy Storyland looks almost as bad as bugsland at DCA if worse; What HKDL really needs is a good park. Not some crappy ideas like what they drew out. Use so imagination. In the words of Walt Disney, "Disneyland will never be complete as long as there's imagination." There is imagination left! Just please let Hong Kong get what they need! The people there don't know what they're missing.

I'm blurting out random thoughts at this moment and I know you guys are going to hate me for this, but... Maybe they could copy the original disneyland ideas? Face it. DLR is the best resort except TDR. They already have Sleeping Beauty's castle. They could at least add the lands. DL didn't have much space either, but they made do with what they had. Can't HKDL do this? These plans look like a freaking six flags or busch gardens not a MAGIC kingdom. I am VERY interested in seeing what Grizzly Trail and the Mystic Mansion will turn out like though. </rant>

We do not expect HKDL to be the best, but at least it has one third of what TDR is offering will be good. But looking at the expansion plan, really cannot make it.

Considering I live near a resort, but choose to fly to other theme parks for my vacations, don't tell me I don't know what it means to travel for my parks. And considering I will travel for parks, don't tell me I can't tell my local parks not to take advantage of my patronage.

And right now, HKDL is really saying "come see me in 5 years"...and you know...in 5 years I will really try to go there instead of Disneyland. Or Dollywood. As long as you treat it this way, it will never be the best. But if you really hold them to a higher standard, they will eventually have to reach it. They may not get the attendance until there are more rides, but they also can't keep getting more rides without more attendance. If you just keep blowing it off to go to Tokyo (which I will admit, is a more lucrative resort and still higher on my list) HKDL will only have so far to go. As long as you, and other Disney fans keep wishing for HKDL to be a failure it will be.

That is your choice. I however will continue to wish for it's success, and hope I can find a way in 5 years when all this is open to get myself out there. Mystic Point sounds right up my alley.

I dont know if its been mentioned yet but time magazine had a interesting snippet stating Toy story land is exclusive to asia for HKDL but Mystic point and grizzly trails are only exclusive for the first five years meaning they could come westcoast, go to shanghai or even tokyo...

Then what will have been the point of building this?!

From the look of it, these expansion photos look okay, but the layout it going to cost some dead-ends to the perfect layout. I like that they are re-doing BTMRR and alternating it, but it makes the whole park as a whole is missing some of the classics- oh, well.

Grizzly Trail and Mystic Point are exclusive to HKDL for good. The same story lines will be exclusive to HKDL for 5 years.

I think Toy Story Land might actually be the first to be built, in order to open it in time for Toy Story 3. Although with the movie due to be premiered next year, it will be a very very very tall order.

That's a pretty cool looking house, and would be a great new facade design. With, what looks like some onion domes thrown on for good measure, in the concept art.

now wouldn't that make an interesting idea for a spook house in DCA. I am sure we could come up with an interesting back story of why that structure is placed somewhere in the Paradise pier area.
