HKDL Fans urged the HK Gov and WDC to build 3 more "Lands" in addition to the approved "Mystic Point", "Grizzly Trail" and "Toy Story Land" for HKDL.

The proposed 3 new Lands include "Western River Expedition", "Beastly Kingdom" and "Glacier Bay".

According to the news, there are over 2,300 members of the Disney Fans Alliance who expressed their strong opinions toward the new additions, they are fighting to get a true hongkonger's Disneyland. with the help of a LegCo member,they will be having a meeting with executives of HKDL in the middle of the month.

In addition to the announced attractions:

-Toy Storyland would have Toy Story: The Ride (based on Ride and Go Seek, not Midway Mania).

-Tomorrowland would get a new version of Star Tours opposite Autopia and keeping with the Sci-fi City spaceport theme.

- Grizzly Gulch would be heavily expanded with a Stunt Theatre (with evolving shows, one possibly coinciding with WDP's Lone Ranger), an updated version of Western River Expedition with a Splash Mountain like splashdown into the lake.

- The most significant addition would be north of the tracks - a Fantasyland extension featuring a darker, more grown-up setting, and all original, non-film-based attractions. Dragon's Tower would borrow heavily from the project designed for Beastly Kingdomme. Quest for the Unicorn borrows a name from BK but is a POTC-like indoor flume through a fantasy adventure. Finally, Legends is a lighter, family omnimover through fairytales from around the world (similar in presentation to TDS' Sinbad).

THIS is the expansion HKDL needs. At the very least, we need the Toy Story dark ride, if for nothing else than to make Toyland have something besides flat rides.

To celebrate making the Chinese news, I've put together an even more expansive vision of HKDL... enjoy!



Some thoughts on this expanded design:
-For the transition from Toy Storyland to Fantasyland, some oversized toy knights & plastic dragons (from Andy's collection) would be "left out on the lawn", so guests are moving from the world of "toy" fantasy to "real" fantasy.
-The parade route would be the same except extending through Discovery Bay (which would be similar to Mysterious Island, but with an additional Hyperion attraction - note the Nautilus and Airship Hanger).
-Dragon's Tower track passes over and around the walkways of Fantasyland North, so the supports would be themed to mimic enormous tree trunks.
-Since Mystic Manor seems to have no relation to the haunted mansion (it features an eccentric collector, monkey, booby traps and trackless vehicles), a traditional Haunted Mansion, themed to late 1800s Victorian America, featuring the omnimover, ballroom, grim-grinning ghosts, etc., would be placed at the periphery of MS.
-Since the park lacks any AA musical shows, a version of Plectu's Intergalactic Revue (in a revolving theater) would be placed in Tomorrowland, keeping with the fantasy spaceport theme.
-Disney classics like PotC and a future world based on human innovation, technology and daring would be reserved for the 2nd gate.

The Discovery Bay area would be based on Vulcania (giant caldera), rather than alternative 1888 San Fransisco.

It's true that they are both FX/animatronic-heavy dark rides in quasi-victorian mansions involving the supernatural. Maybe keep one light, song-filled and happy (Haunted Mansion) and one terrifiying (Mystic Manor). But they are probably are too similar for the same park (although I wouldn't mind).

There is still space available at Main Street for Haunted Mansion in HKDL.

Would they put Haunted Mansion with Mystic Manor at the same park?

I like the idea though! I wouldn't mind to see both.

All very nice, Randy. Two HMs is one too many though IMO. Perhaps if you have the time, you could come up with a concept map like the one above, but with something else in place of Toy Story Land? It's just such a poor thematic transition between Adventureland and Mystic Point. Glacier Bay probably won't fly with Legco given the similarities with the Polar area being added to Ocean park, but maybe something else?
