Former Disney employee threatens suicide atop Space Mountain in Hong Kong(Updated 01:53 p.m.)

A former Disney worker climbed to the roof of the Hong Kong park's most popular attraction and threatened to slash his throat to protest his dismissal, a Disney spokeswoman and newspaper reports said Wednesday.

The 48-year-old man, a former security guard at the theme park, climbed to the top of the building housing the Space Mountain roller coaster on Tuesday and remained there for two hours, Hong Kong Disneyland spokeswoman Esther Wong said.

No kidding, how does one get atop Space Mountain, especially without being noticed.
On another note, its very possible this could have happened at any resort, but it seesm like China is having a hard time dealing with Disney and the way things go...

If I am not mistaken, this very same thing happened a few months ago when a construction worker tried to pull the same stunt to complaint about working conditions...

Pride and the value of life are viewed very differently in Asia. Japanese business men, for example, are famous for killing themselves in their offices if they are reprimanded for poor work or a project fails.

Yeah but I guess I just associate that kind of pride with Japan and not China...or maybe it seems that in Japan that suicide is not turned into a spectacle.
