港迪士尼新設施早2年落成

【明報專訊】面對上海迪士尼樂園的挑戰，香港迪士尼樂園將全力趕工擴建。身為香港迪士尼樂園董事局政府代表 之一的商務及經濟發展局長劉吳惠蘭表示，本港現時首要的工作，是全速做好迪士尼擴建工程，工程將於年底展開 ，新設施將陸續在兩至三年內落成及逐步開放。

免撞正上海樂園落成

劉太說，希望能把握時間，盡快讓市民及旅客享用擴建後的迪士尼樂園設施。中央拍板在上海建全球第6個迪士尼 樂園，樂園首期佔地約100公頃的主題樂園區，預料最快於2014年落成啟用。而港府年中宣布本港迪士尼樂 園3個新擴建主題區，即「野礦山谷」、「迷離莊園」和「反斗奇兵歷奇地帶」時表明，新設施原訂於5年內、即 2014年底前才分階段完成，這個時間表剛好跟上海樂園落成時間撞個正，所以政府跟迪士尼已有默契，要提 早在兩至三年內，即2011至2012年左右，會逐步有新設施落成。

In order to avoid the opening of Disney Shanghai in 2014, HK Gov and WDC have agreed to open all 3 Lands between 2011-2012, by pushing the original completion date by 2 years forward.

^That is great news! Clearly HKDL doesn't want to be compared unfavorably as the "little" or "inferior" park when Shanghai potentially opens in 2014-15.

It's cheaper to build during a recession and the early opening will let them see how much more growth is needed to achieve success in the HK market.

What I don't get, is that the Imagineer I talked to in the Parks and Resorts pavilion at the D23 Expo, said that construction had just begun, and that all three lands would be opening at the same time, and yet, everyone on here keeps saying it'll be a staggered opening. What gives?
