香 港 迪 士 尼 樂 園 度 假 區 行 政 總 裁 金 民 豪 表 示 ， 不 擔 心 上 海 興 建 迪 士 尼 樂 園 ， 會 令 到 訪 本 港 樂 園 的 客 源 ， 包 括 內 地 旅 客 減 少 ， 又 說 ， 會 以 國 際 性 作 為 本 港 樂 園 的 定 位 。
至 於 本 港 樂 園 的 擴 建 工 程 ， 將 於 2014 年 ， 與 上 海 的 樂 園 同 年 完 工 ， 金 民 豪 說 ， 會 加 快 設 計 ， 提 早 動 工 ， 希 望 提 早 完 成 擴 建 。 他 又 說 ， 本 港 樂 園 只 經 營 了 4 年 ， 有 很 大 成 長 空 間 ， 已 預 留 土 地 作 進 一 步 擴 建 。

他 又 說 ， 訪 港 旅 客 在 過 去 10 年 增 長 約 一 倍 ， 由 每 年 1000 多 萬 名 人 次 ， 增 至 現 時 近 3000 萬 名 ， 他 對 本 港 旅 遊 業 發 展 有 信 心 。

He added that Hong Kong has been experiencing tremendous growth in Tourism, over the past 10 years, visitors number almost doubles, increased from 10 million plus per year to nearly 30 million per year, he is very confident with the development of Hong Kong Tourism.

That's a positive spin on things. The good thing about Shanghai Disney opening is that its speeding up development of Hong Kong Disney.

HKDL reported back in July when they announced the expansion that construction would begin at the end of the year. Has there been any news on this at all or any groundwork being started? I heard that Toy Story Land would be completed in time for HKDL's 5th anniversary next september. They should start laying the foundations for those flat rides. x

Sort of gives an idea of how lame Toy Story Land will be

But other than that, it does sound like good news that they are aware of how Shanghai will affect them and are taking steps to grow this tiny Disneyland park into something more worth visiting.

But if non of you can wait for the park to open Toy Story Playland, may I recomend you book trips to Disneyland Paris for next Summer, as the Studios is on track to open its very own version of the land including the three listed attractions. Actually the Paris opening will give us our first look into Hong Kong Disneyland's future.
