For some reason, animated movies are exempt from that rule. We usually have to wait for at least a month before they're released. Go figure.

Right now there's still no release date for Tangled in HK, but there's a Dec. 23 one for TRON Legacy.

They did the Pirates overlay for Adventureland three years ago, so if there's one it seems more likely for a film like TRON rather than Tangled as of the moment.
In the Chinese version wiki, they said Tangled will released at 3rd Feb. in HK. However, I think there will be NO any promotion in our park, the last M&G of the newest movie is already Bolt. I hope that we can have more face characters in our park during and after the 5th Anniversary even only the princes of the existing princess.

I will cry with you if I don't get a trip to HK in december... just came back from DLR and they have started to put up the xmas decor.. and I was crying already for their heartless tease...
On the other hand, is it me or is WDW's xmas looking more and more underwhelming with the same lineup every year? The Osborne lights are so overrated...

The homepage has also updated now! It's so beautiful and warm! Now I'm just waiting for the commercial this year... Hope that Mickey and Minnie can talk in the commercial!
And that's really sad that you guys can't come to HKDL this year... I promise to take a lot of photos for you guys since I have a lot of holidays during the activity this year!

Well, I haven't been there for 8 months (yes, you heard that right) AND to add to that, I've been in HK the whole time. And not just anywhere in HK, somewhere just across the water from HKDL. I see it from home, at school AND on the way to and from school. It's too tempting. yet I still have to resist the urge.

I love how they introduced Duffy here! It's a classy look. Also, he is wearing the same costume that will be released at Tokyo DisneySea, so it looks like the two parks are sharing designs? I wonder if HKDL fans will embrace him the way they do in Japan?

I feel the same way about the 5th anniversary.

If it's all right with you guys, I'll make a trip report. Except I don't know how to go about making one.

Well I think Hong Kong Disneyland's Christmas lineup seems to be more packed full than the reports we've had in over at the Tokyo Disney Resort. With a rather crap 10th Anniversary line up announced for next year I am really starting to lean towards a trip to Hong Kong Disneyland next year. The Seasonal Events always look amazing. And can I just say I feel the park has up to this point done a great job in bringing Duffy over to Hong Kong Disneyland.

ORWEN: I'm still surprised they haven't done anything to promote Rapunzel in Hong Kong Disneyland, yet. I mean over in France, Disneyland Paris already has a cute little stage show for her!

Re: A Sparkling Christmas 2010 "A Storybook Fantasy"

The last time anything happened for the new release of a Disney flick was with Bolt. And that was a one day character meet and greet! Princess and the Frog only got its songs played at the promenade but apart from that...nada. Prince Caspian had a season long grotto at adventureland and the guy did walkthroughs at AL as well. POTC 3 was insane. Adventureland was renamed Pirateland with Jack Sparrow all over the place, JC was also slightly changed. Iron Man 2 got its toys into a Tomorrowland merchandise shop....

but i dont think Rapunzel will get much promotion there -apart from a poster at the ticket booth- since these type of movies dont sell well in HK. Princess and the Frog was a flop! it barely lasted a 10th of the time Avatar did, and with only a few cinemas (out of the 100+ in HK) showing it!

ORWEN: Thank you for your information, HKDLFAN, duckling! (It's always so nice to hear from you.) It's strange that Rapunzel wouldn't be popular in China if other fairytales--like Snow White or Cinderella--are. Just goes to show how fickle the Disney theme park going public can be.
