Always Something New to Discover
Located on picturesque Lantau Island and covering 126 hectares, Hong Kong Disneyland Resort features two award-winning Disney-themed hotels, a conference centre, unique and extensive outdoor venues and, of course, the world famous Disneyland theme park.
It continues to expand its product portfolio with unique new experiences. This ensures that guests always discover something new, whether it’s their first Disney visit or their 50th.
The seasonal events at Hong Kong Disneyland will bring Guests more surprises because of its 5th anniversary. Shortly after the darkest-ever Haunted Halloween that is being held until October 31, the Resort will launch A Sparkling Christmas. Starting in mid-November, Minnie’s special Christmas gift to Mickey, the hand-made teddy bear named Duffy the Disney Bear, will come to life and transform the Park into a magical Christmas Storybook Fantasy.
With his magical powers, Duffy will turn the center of Christmas Town into a Gingerbread Village. Step inside the pages of a Christmas fairytale, where houses are built from gingerbread with colorful roofs, smoking chimneys and candy cane trimming. Adding to the festivity will be the Let It Snow Christmas Parade, the Christmas themed “it’s a small world” attraction and the Lights of Winter, a magnificent illumination of Christmas lights.
At the start of the year 2011, Hong Kong Disneyland will share the joy and good wishes with its Guests by bringing them various new experiences and offerings that will last for a year. Tinker Bell will appear in the Park for the first time and team up with Sorcerer Mickey as together they shower the Resort with pixie dust. The special event is named “Celebration in the Air”, as it takes everything to a new height, literally!.
Aerial magic will be added, as the Resort brings to Guests an all-new, highly interactive daily parade called “Flights of Fantasy Parade.’ Not only does it feature those favorite characters that our Guests know and love, it’s also Disney’s most innovative parade yet and will leave Guests in awe as they watch it transform and take to the skies before their eyes.
A dramatic centerpiece to “Celebration in the Air” will be Tinker Bell’s pixies dusted castle. By day the castle will gleam as though it has been showered by Tinker Bell’s pixie dust. By night it will transform with a dramatic illumination. This special centerpiece will only be available during the celebration year so it’s a must see for everyone!
The theme park will also premiere three new areas in the coming years as part of an expansion that will bring the total number of attractions and entertainment experiences to more than 100 - Toy Story Land - Disney*Pixar -themed Play Area for Kids of All Ages, Grizzly Gulch, an abandoned frontier mining town that will be home to the high-speed Grizzly Mountain coaster and Mystic Point - the site of mysterious forces and supernatural events in the heart of a dense, uncharted rain forest. The first phase will open with Toy Story Land in late 2011 at the earliest and will culminate in 2014.
