Thanks for posting, wish the states could have the old Maleficent props!

We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.

I think that's because the Headless Horseman isn't very intimidating when he's being slowly led down Main Street like a person with a disability. His handlers remind me of boy scouts accompanying granny down the street. And where's the flaming pumpkin? If it were really on fire, that would be epic.

On the other hand, I'm just stoked that there's finally a horse walking around HKDL. The place definitely needs horses.

I think it would look better if he did like at the MK. That is a bit too slowly and not intimidating IMO

LOL, yeah, he loses all threatening presence when he's basically on a glorified pony ride. So slow. But, yes, seeing a real horse walk down Main Street is great! Is it the first time livestock has been inside HKDL like that?

Here's a video of the Magic Kingdom version for comparison. The Headless Horseman rides through around the 1:02 mark.

    T
he HKDL costume is a little too top-heavy also, which might be why it looks a little off. It's not as convincing as the MK version.

ORWEN: In Florida's Magic Kingdom, the Headless Horseman is much more impressive because he's allowed to gallup down Main Street while holding a jack-o-lantern in one hand.

ORDDU: THIS Headless Horseman looks like he's just been rescued after losing a battle with another Disney villain--

ORGOCH: --more 'n likely Mad Madame Mim!

ORWEN: Maybe Hong Kong Disneyland management is trying to play it all a little bit too safe by not letting their Headless Horseman gallup.

ORDDU: As for needing more horses at Hong Kong Disneyland, I believe both Samson and Maximus are available.

I think the main reason of that heavy costume is because the park tries to match the story of the new haunted house. However its still too heavy for a knight to wear something like that. And the horse looks so stupid that he can't run for even walk on its own.
However, this year's decor is quite good.

To the best of my knowledge, yes! At this point I'd be happy if I saw sheep in the park. Or even feral cats.

I wish they would bring some of that kind of decor over to the states. I like what that they decorate for the family audience here but maybe they could be a bit more daring in the second gate. They do not have to be gory or bloody since that would be out of line

Very creepy and impressive. I would LOVE to see this sort of detail at Disneyland in Anaheim but I think they are too afraid to scare the kids. Love what they are doing in Hong Kong!

This would be awesome here. I agree though TDA wouldn't dare bring it here.
