Toy Story Land = Good Themeing?

I've been looking at the pictures of the new Toy Story Land in HKDL, and I've seen images of the Walt Disney Studios version, and it's brought up the question - is it good themeing, or just oversized toys?

To me it's like Bugs Land
    Instead of over sized plants/"rides"
    it's over sized toys.

    Basically a recycled idea.

    But that's just my opinion.

I mean its good themeing but...to me stuff like Bugs land and Toy Story are just kinda.....boring for a theme landed.

Rather just get a cool new land with an original ride or 2......Im only ok with Cars land because i LOVE the dessert and it seems like its going to be a great addition and not boring like a much or green trees or cloverleafs

It's great themeing. However it feels very uninspired.

If they hadn't built TSMM on the board walk
    my feelings wouldn't be hurt
if Bugs Life was replaced with a cleaner version of HKDL's Toy Story Land.
I'm not big on movies being turned into lands, but I'm not also big fan of Bugs Land.

And when I say cleaner, HKDL used real plants to grow over size
the problem is, it looks like the just let the landscaping take over the area
and then to throw props on top of it just doesn't impress me.
At least in Bugs Land, it look maintained.

This thread should be moved elsewhere instead of being the Disneyland thread.

Disneyland's Bug's Land is slightly better than WDS's Toy Story Playland. The main issue is that TSPL should be all indoors (ie in Andy's room). Bug's Land fits with being outside. Sadly neither are worth more than a cursory visit unless accompanied by a toddler or two.

I suppose the theming or at least the gardening to these types of areas is pretty good. But they're not very exciting and are a pretty cheap way to increase capacity too. I go to Disney parks for something a bit more unique then a nicely dressed garden.

It's not BAD themeing, it's just uninspired and pretty tacky. Looks better at HKDL than WDS though.

I was just at Toy Story Land in Hong Kong Disneyland the other day. Thought it was very nicely done and better than expected. The Parachute Drop and RC Racer rides are not for toddlers (you can't be a parent and write something like that). The strange "pizza cone" they serve at the snack stand is quite good!

I agree that putting the entire land indoors would've given the land more spark (and I say that about both TSPLs). Perhaps they can put TSMM in a building shaped and painted to resemble Andy's wagon toy box.

MMM I like it, but its a bit small for the improve of capacity that HKDL needs, its more a cheap land than a well done area. They could do better, I'm really wating for Mystic Point and Gryzzly Glunch, I've got my hope on them.
